ER is my specialty, but I prefer Pre-R
While emergency medicine can be fascinating and exciting, Pre-R lets me spend much more time with my patients in the comfort of their homes.
Dr. Sam Slishman has practiced emergency medicine since 1997, after graduation from Washington University Medical School. He completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of New Mexico in 2000. Dr. Slishman has worked on faculty at UNM and in a variety of smaller hospitals across New Mexico. He has also done locum tenens work in Wyoming, New Zealand and Tasmania. Today he is practicing in California and Hawaii, working with Central Coast Emergency Physicians and Hawaii Emergency Physicians Associates. Occasionally you will find him working on cruise ships or doing relief work in places like Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. During his off hours he enjoys tinkering in his shop and working with students at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo on a variety of medical devices and projects.
