Even if a patient has had a previous colonoscopy, ten years ago, Dr Zafer should make a point of communicating the procedure. He did not and even called me by someone else’s name just before my surgery. Thankfully the nurse verified my wrist band .That could have been a disaster if that person wasn’t to get a colonoscopy!! Further, I never saw him after the procedure was over and I was awake from the anesthesia. Very poor customer service.

Terrible office staff. Doesn't take time with you. I have Crohns and made the decision to leave. My poor 77yr old mother had severe guy issues and he hasn't helped in any way. We can't even get her records forwarded to new G.I. I would definitely NOT recommend this Dr

My daughter who was admitted to St. Lukes was visited by Dr. Zafar with my other daughter present in the room and Dr. Zafir was blatantly rude and hostile towards my daughter. First time he ever laid eyes on her and he came into her room and asked in a rather demeaning patronizing tone of voice, "Where do you live?" "What are doing in this hospital?" This is acceptable???!!! Hardly.. This man needs a good lesson in courteous and respect for patients. I hope he is reported.l

Dr. Zafar correctly identified cancer during a routine colonoscopy at 50 years old. I had no family history or symptoms. Dr. Zafar explained his findings and put me in touch with a well regarded colorectal surgeon who removed the cancer one week later. Dr. Zafar is kind, friendly, humble, and professional. His staff is also. The environment is extraordinarily clean and comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Zafar.

Very slow in followup with results of biopsy taken. Does not explain why he takes you off certain supplements or vitamins and when and if you can take again

His prep instructions for the colonoscopy made me pass out. I was transported by ambulance to the hospital. I had a billing issue. The surgery center manager tried to contact him numerous times to resolve my issue, but the doctor never responded. I sent his a personal letter requesting a response, but he didn't respond to that either. I do not recommend him and would never use him again.
