He completed his residency in family medicine at Ghent Family Practice, Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va., and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. In addition, he earned a doctor of philosophy degree from the School of Chemical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Ga., where he also received a master's degree through the Department of Metallurgy. Dr. Chakrabortty also has a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India. Dr. Chakrabortty is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a community faculty member of Eastern Virginia Medical School.Prior to joining Bon Secours, he was in private practice in Virginia Beach, Va.
