Dr. Sabrena Noria is Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus Ohio. She attended the University of Toronto earning a Hon. BSc. and a PhD in cardiovascular medicine, followed by an M.D. with specialization in General Surgery. After completing a fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric surgery at The Ohio State University in 2011, she went on to join the faculty at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. In 2013, she was recruited back to Ohio State University, where she continues to work in minimally invasive surgery with a special focus on metabolic and bariatric surgery, and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. In addition to a clinical practice, Dr. Noria is actively involved in research focused on obesity, the metabolic syndrome, and the effects of bariatric surgery. She has over 50 publications, serves as a reviewer for several journals, was awarded a grant from the ASMBS for her research involving obesity, diabetes and gut hormones, and serves as the site PI for several multi-center trials. More recently, Dr. Noria's research focus has grown to include patient outcomes as they relate to obesity and bariatric surgery. Through her research endeavors and participation on quality improvement committees, both at an institution and national level, she aims to provide the highest quality of care for her patients.
