Care Philosophy

"People are wary because too many surgeons suggest surgery at the first option. The most effective way to deliver quality care and earn your patients' confidence is to explore all treatment possibilities before deciding on surgery. When you do that, you earn patients' respect. When you educate patients, they feel more comfortable and empowered." Dr/ Shahid makes a strong effort to get to know his patients. "While the internet can provide valuable information, ultimately the practice of medicine is a human endeavor. Beyond my training and technology, my biggest priority is in seeing my patients and managing their expectations to have a positive impact on their lives."Read more

It took me six weeks to get an appointment. I really liked Dr. Shahid. He explained the next steps and getting an MRI, which his office staff would call and get approved. 2 days later I lost feeling in my leg and called the office and the staff said a doctor would call me back and he never did. I called twice the next week to get the MRI. No one has ever called me back in the 3.5 weeks since I saw him. I had to go somewhere else and everything was done in less than 2 weeks.

Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.
