This content was provided by Dr. Sherer "Since I first wanted to become a Physician, I have been concerned about how to help someone who is dealing with important or difficult decisions or situations with their health. My focus is on helping the person achieve QUALITY of LIFE! I want to help with confusing and complicated information and strive to translate that in a meaningful way to allow the best decisions to be made by the person. Being a Patient means putting yourself in a position of weakness or loss of control. I understand this and want to be in a position to help all of my patients succeed with their healthcare goals in their lives.
The best part of being a Family Physician for me is the focus on caring for the person and their entire family. Being able to care for a person and their family and extended family gives me a lot of satisfaction. Having the TRUST of the person that would result in them recommending me to their family is the highest compliment I can ever receive and I treasure that experience here in Dubois County.
My wife and I have chosen to settle here, raise our family here, send our children to the schools here, and participate in the community in a meaningful way to us. We both want to serve our community as quality Physicians and good citizens.
I have a practical way of looking at someone's health and all of the various factors that can impact their health. Recognition of important connections and communicating the importance of those factors on the person's overall health is very important to me. I strive to incorporate the most effective means of communicating those concepts to each patient."
