I had a revision by Dr. Pokorney a year ago, and it went very well... Now I am contemplating the other knee for replacement. He is a good listener and answers my questions with patience. It is nice to have a doctor that is not rushing out the door as you ask questions. I definitely recommend him!

Had Right Knee Total Revision. Had first right knee replacement at VA in Iowa City. Lived in Pain and walked with limp for 4 years before visiting Dr. Pokorney.

I was walking with a walker and in extreme pain. I had a hip replacement on November 29,2017. I owe my successful surgery and recovery to Dr. Pokorney. It is a little late for a review but I want everyone to know--he is the best!! It took awhile for him to convince me that I needed the surgery but he was always patient and kind. Also, he explains everything in a way that you do understand. Let me repeat--he is the best!!!

Dr.Pokorney He takes very good care of his patients very respectful caring always have an open ear suggestions. I'm slowly getting back on track I had a total right knee replacements March 17, 2020 And I also had a manipulation of the right knee may 17, 2020 It's been a long road But I'm starting to see results at the end of the tunnel. I highly recommend him wonderful orthopedic doctor?????????

I came into the emergency room after a fall at work in which I broke my left femoral bone. Dr. Pokorney was the Orthopedic Dr on call he was very compassionate and caring he came and told me the news about needing a total left hip replacement he did the surgery the next day I was in the hospital for the next five days he saw me every day. Also right after the surgery he called my family and let them know how the surgery went. He is a very kind and compassionate Dr. I highly recommend him for any Orthopedic needs. Thank you Dr Pokorney

I've been to many doctors over the years I had a fall in the night and ended out in the emergency room where Dr. Pokorny was on call It was accidental that he was my doctor and I feel very grateful that he was. He's the best orthopedic doctor that I've had. Very kind he listened, based his decisions and diagnosis on me and my needs rather than on just a standard of care and I really appreciated that. Took all of my needs into consideration. A lot of times it seems like doctors get caught up especially in a fast moving emergency situation general idea of what is needed but Dr. Pokorny didn't do that he did look at MY history and based what I needed on MY history and I'm very grateful for that. I have a lot of respect for him. When I went back for my follow-up he showed me my x-rays no other doctors done that with me before. He showed me what my injury looked like before and after. I highly recommend Dr Pokorny!!

Dr Pokorney is professional, knowledgeable, kind and thorough. He takes his time to show you xrays, explain them to you and then helps get you out of pain.

Dr. Pokorney did a total knee replacement on both my knees over the course of a year. He was great to work with, his staff are always knowledgeable and courteous. I recommend him without hesitation to anyway needing joint replacement.
