This content was provided by Dr. Mayerhoff "Ross Mayerhoff, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is a laryngologist, which is a specialist in the medical and surgical management of voice, swallowing, and airway disorders. Dr. Mayerhoff offers a complete spectrum of medical and surgical management of diseases of the larynx (voice box) and related structures. In many cases, he is able to offer minimally invasive procedures without the need for general anesthesia. For each patient, it is Dr. Mayerhoff's goal to ensure that he or she understands the nature of the disorder and what our next steps are to improve it together. Prior to joining Henry Ford Health System, he was a member of the Wayne State University faculty. Dr. Mayerhoff obtained his undergraduate degree at Cornell University and went to medical school at Stony Brook University in New York. His medical training took place at University of California San Francisco, Wayne State University, and University of Washington. Dr. Mayerhoff has published many papers in the field and presented at a number of local and national meetings. His research interests primarily lie in the areas of patient safety and quality improvement, particularly with studying ways to improve the care of voice, airway, and swallowing issues in hospitalized patients.
