I had Dr. Rosa Galvez at Presbyterian for 5 years. She then left to practice at Lovelace. I miss her. She is such a compassionate doctor that I am thinking about switching to Lovelace. She always made time to ask is there anything else I can help you with. She would follow up on all my tests and would make sure that I understood my results. I wish more Doctors were like her.

Dr. Galvez is professional, personable and competent. She doesn't really do any traditional check-up outside of listening to lungs and heart, but is responsive to patient questions, problems. I have had a problem with extremely long wait times in the past, but this visit my appointment was honored in a timely manner.

I've recently dropped Dr. Galvez as my physician. She's good I think; no complaints about the care I've gotten—when I've been able to see her. It took five months to get in to see her when I was first scheduled to see her by the Lovelace Group. Twice I've had scheduled appointments pushed back because she was going to be out of town. The second time the appointment was moved back 3 months. Hopefully this is not the case, but I got the sense she may be writing off senior citizens. Routine appointments are important for us and should not be put off. I can see occasionally being put off a week or two, but no more than that.

My concern is more about the wait times than the doctor; she is very competent. There is a whiteboard at the reception area that shows wait times of all 3 doctors, and while they are always on time, her's typically shows 45 minutes to an hour and a half late (I have pictures of this). What has that kind of time? And while she runs way behind, you cannot check in any later that 15 minutes or you will forfeit your appointment and be charged a late fee. You are not even allowed to check in over the phone; you have to be there in person. It's ridiculous! In addition, scheduling is a nightmare, so be sure you know 6-8 months in advance that you will need an appointment, especially for a physical which is only done on Thursdays, I believe. For example, I called in January and got an appointment for September, the earliest. I just received a call in May saying she was out that week and the next available appointment was June 2020, over a year later! I'm not sure what's happening there...

I don't necessarily have an issue with Dr. Galvez, rather it is with the office scheduling and the ridiculous wait times. I'd say 4 out of 5 appointments at this office have required a 1 hour or more wait because the doctor is running behind. They don't give you advance notice of this delay and you can't leave and come back without risking your turn. Then, when you finally get a turn, you feel the doctor is rushing you since she is so behind. Otherwise, I like Dr. Galvez and would recommend her.

First couple visits I thought she was fine. Then when I was feeling ill and was very worried she wouldn't see me because I was 6 minutes late ( the patient before me was still in the waiting room, so the were running late already). When I finally got in to see her she said it sure looked like I had ALS, a devestating fatal disease. Thankfully an appt with a neurologist ruled that out. Now, 2 years later I'm finally ready to let people know. WORST DOCTOR I'VE EVER SEEN!

My grandfather had a blood pressure of 175/105, I called to get advice on how to proceed, they said someone would call me back. 53 hours later I was called back on a Friday at 4:56 pm only for her to tell me we had to make an appointment. Fortunately I also called another one of his doctors, I spoke to a nurse and got him in the very next day, and they said this was a matter not to wait. He was already on different meds for a full day before this office even called me back. NOT impressed

I've been seeing Dr. Galvez for a little over a year and she is a HORRIBLE doctor. She does NOT CARE about her patients nor is she willing to listen to what her patients have to say. Her misdiagnoses have landed me in urgent care twice and the ER with serious medical issues. Her staff is rude and are more focused on baby showers, pot lucks and Hawaiian days than actually doing their jobs. A complaint has been filed with Lovelace and SW Medical in addition to notifying her medical director.

Started service w/ Galvez a yr ago with physical. All was fine. Scheduled my next visit for a yr later. When I was actually sick a few months ago I could not get in to see her but was offered another Dr at a different location late into the afternoon (it was 8am). I called today to verify my physical appt and was told that appt was to review labs. (I had labs a year ago as you recall). That appt could not be used as a physical and it would be months to get in. Staff chuckled at me.

She is not very easy to talk to and she orders extensive laboratory tests for what seem to be minor issues. Good luck getting her or her staff to call you back and god forbid you have to deal with nurse Lola.

I have been a patient of Dr. Galvez for a little over a year, and until a couple days ago I had absolute faith that. Dr Galvez was patient centered, and actually cared about my chronic pain and suffering. She does not! She and her less than lovely staff appear kind and sincere, but it's a front. I am now looking for a better, more competent PCP, maybe this time I won't be treated with disrespect.

Unfortunately, Dr. Galvez is yet another PCP who is all about her bottom line. I asked for a call from Dr. Galvez after a medical assistant in her office blundered an attempt to give me lab results and I had a concern about one of the results. I was told by the medical assistant and the office manager that Dr. Galvez does not call patients. I will be changing to a PCP who provides patient-centered care whose true concern is her patients and not ringing up another copay.
