Dr. Warnick's bio

This content was provided by Dr. Warnick "I am a board-certified neurosurgeon who specializes in the care of brain tumor patients. My practice is focused on stereotactic radiosurgery for brain tumors, vascular malformations, and trigeminal neuralgia. I have performed over 3,000 radiosurgery procedures over the past 26 years. I am uniquely positioned to provide a balanced recommendation of how stereotactic radiosurgery can be part of the treatment plan for patients with brain metastases, gliomas, benign brain tumors, vascular malformation, and trigeminal neuralgia. I trained at New York University (neurosurgery residency) and UCSF (brain tumor fellowship). I am currently Co-Director of the Gamma Knife Center at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati. I have devoted my entire career to the compassionate care of brain tumor patients while searching for a cure through clinical trials, translational research, and education of future leaders."

Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Warnick "My role is to translate my 26 years of brain tumor experience into treatment options so that patients can select the therapy that is best for them. At the office visit, I spend considerable time reviewing the MRI images, discussing the various management options, and comparing the benefits and risks of each approach. I try to answer all of the patient's questions in an honest and understandable way."

Three years ago I was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma affecting my balance and hearing. Discovering any tumor within your brain can be quite concerning. Dr. Warnick and his team were both comprehensive and compassionate in their explanation, recommendations, and treatment options. Now three years later, treatment has reduced the neuroma, my balance has returned, and I am able to fully participate in all prior activities - including a daily 4 mile run. Thank you Dr. Warnick and team!!

Dr. Warnick took me in as a patient when I was newly diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, just before labor day weekend in 2013. This man is simply the best. The fellow really knows his stuff and he is a straight shooter. I did 6 weeks of fractional radiation, and here I am over four years later, still working full-time as an engineer, and vacationing with my lovely wife whenever possible.

Dr Warnick removed my malignant meningioma brain tumor in 2002. Since then I have had numerous MRI's and radio-therapies. There are 6 remaining meningiomas that are being monitored. Dr. Warnick has always provided the information I needed to make a decision for a procedure. I highly recommend him.
in Union, Kentucky |
Dr. Warnick is a compassionate doctor and was well-tuned-in to my needs. He was most informative during the diagnostic process, answering all of my questions regarding my tumors and the treatment processes. He was also most informative during the treatment procedures for both of my tumors. I moved to this area recently for other reasons, but the fact that he is located here was a major plus for me.

Dr. Warwick literally saved my life. I had a Meningioma growing in my brain for years. Until I began losing control of my limbs and having seizures I was going about my life as usual. Yes, there were signs but the tumor growing in the area of brain where reasoning takes place made those signs impossible to notice. The way the tumor was growing and its size made for a very risky operation. I write this review today because Dr. Warwick made it possible. THANK YOU FOR MY LIFE DR. WARWICK.

I first saw Dr. Warnick to get a second opinion on a diagnosis of acoustic neuroma. He was very personable and helpful and explained my condition thoroughly, even showing my wife and me the MRI images. He answered all of our questions thoroughly, and took all the time needed to help educate and guide us as to our next steps.. I recently returned for a follow-up visit as we are continuing to monitor the tumor at regular intervals. I have great confidence in the "team" approach they take.Tops!

I have been a patient of Dr. Warnick for approximately 10 yrs. From the time that my meningionma was detected, through the time of his recommendation to monitor rather than have surgery at that time to now continuing with a monitoring approach, Dr. Warnick has been wonderful about explaining the details and taking time to answer all of our questions..wonderful staff.

Dr. Warnick has been wonderful to me and my family through very trying times, dealing with tumors on my brain.. He is forthcoming, sympathetic, and helpful, while explaining the facts to us. This is in addition to being a truly talented surgeon. He's at the top of my hero list.
Jackson, OH |
My neuro oncologist wen to another field of medicine and we asked if Dr. Warnick was able to take over my care. He read the MRI and showed it to us and explained the findings. He answered all of our questions and was very professional.
in Troy, Ohio |
Dr. Warnick has been so helpful in a time of great stress in my life. Imagine being awakened from sleep at 2:30 AM with a pounding headache like you have never experienced before. You finally give up and go to the ER only to be told you have "something" showing on the CAT scan of your brain that should not be there. I was transferred to a larger hospital for an MRI to tell me that I had a brain tumor. I was scared and did not know what to expect. I chose Dr. Warnick for his skill. I am so glad.
Tipp City, OH |
I've been a patient of Dr Warnick for many years. I had brain surgery to remove a meningioma and now have annual folllowup visits to monitor the brain for any changes. The entire office staff is wonderful there from the reception area who seem to remember and welcome me even though they only see me once per year to all of his nursing staff. They are very thorough and professional. Dr Warnick always explains what he sees in my annual MRI to me in detail in terms I understand.

Dr. Warnick monitors my SNUC cancer. I find him very reassuring because he takes the time to address any fears or concerns I have. He doesn't rush you in and out and has the patience to address not only your medical issues but also any emotional concerns which means your whole person can progress toward wellness.

Professional, dedicated, honest and there for his patients. I remember asking Doctor Warnick what he would recommend regarding my Meningioma and it’s location. He suggested gamma knife and it was successful. Thank you Doctor Warnick and your wonderful staff.

I met Dr Warnick in Feb .2014. I had an Acoustic Neuroma (Brain Tumor ). Dr Warnick was very positive w/me and told me about The Gamma Knife procedure. I had the Surgery in March 2014 and have been pleasantly surprised by the outcome. The Tumor has shrunk each time we have met.----Now I only have to do an MRI after 2 years instead of one. I would totally endorse The Mayfield Clinic and in particular Dr Ronald Warnick for the Professional Performance he has done for me. T M Fairfield ,Oh.

Dr. Warnick & his staff are very professional, warm & friendly. Dr Warnick has worked with me treating a benign, yet invasive, brain tumor. He is very caring, compassionate, a good listener & understands the frustration I feel & the seriousness of my tumor. He takes time to answer questions honestly, show images/test results with explanations & welcomes a dialogue. I thank God for the knowledge Dr. Warnick has been given to bless people as an instrument of His healing.

He has a great bedside manner and explains extremely well all of pertinent details about your diagnosis and treatment options. He takes the time to listen and answer all of your questions. I 'm a very complicated case and I couldn't ask for a better Doctor to treat me. We are truly blessed to have Dr. Warnick in the Greater Cincinnati area.

There is no other neurosurgeon that I would trust with my family or myself (I already do). I have been under his care for several years, and he has always been professional, caring, and light-hearted when it comes to some pretty life altering diagnoses. I trust this doctor as a clinician, but also as a fellow human being. You will be in great hands working with him and his wonderful team lead by Dr. Dale. It's easy to book my scans and appointments to get through them peacefully.

I haven't been able to come up with the words that would do Dr Warnick and his staff justice. It is so shocking to meet a doctor for the first time and have him be so compassionate and caring. Dr. Warnick performed Gamma Knife on my husband for Trigeminal Neuralgia and has stopped the pain 95%. I believe HIS expertise and planning is what gave my husband such good results. Thank you Dr. Warnick and all your staff. You've given my husband his life back.

Speaking as a family member of someone who had a brain tumor, there is no need in looking any further for a neurosurgeon who is the best of the best than Dr. Ronald Warnick of Mayfield Clinic. Dr. Warnick's expertise and compassion toward his patients and their families are second to none. Our family highly recommends Dr. Warnick
