Dr. Paik is a native of Northern Virginia having graduated from Oakton High School and the University of Virginia, where he was in the Echols Scholar Honors Program. He received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School where he was selected as a National Institutes of Health Summer Research Fellow. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He went on to pursue further fellowship training in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the world renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic, which pioneered the Tommy John surgical procedure for baseball players. Dr. Paik specializes in treating disorders of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. His goal is to pursue non-operative treatments when possible, but he is experienced in arthroscopic surgical repair and reconstruction as well as total joint replacements. Dr. Paik makes it a priority to ensure that his patients are well informed about their conditions and treatment options so they can make educated decisions. Dr. Paik has assisted in the medical and surgical care of many professional and collegiate teams including the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Oakland Athletics, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels, and University of Southern California Trojans.
