I fractured my knee in 2000, and more recently have been in severe pain. Dr. Light recommended other treatments but I felt like it was best for a total knee replacement. Living with off and on pain for years can be stressful. He did recommend trying other treatments but I felt like it would only buy me a little more time the ultimate replacement, because I had been in so much pain I had become upset and he made sure I was comfortable before leaving. My surgery is soon and I look forward to a speedy recovery.

Dr. Light I HAVE KNOWN since it must be 24 yrs, now, he is an extremely knowledgable and caring, wonderful orthopedic surgeon. I am so happy he is in NORTHWELL AND LIJ. I wouldn't have it any other way. His work certainly makes my day! Roseann Groen

I don't understand complaints like "He is not listening"... Don't start with your full biography, be respectful of the time. We had a hip replacement. Now we came with a knee issue. Dr. Light is always friendly, straight to the point, with options to consider. So, yes. I would - and am recommending him to our friends.

The receptionist Ms. Holly is awesome . She knows her job well and works hard to accommodate the patients. I have been taking my husband to see Dr. Light for several weeks. She greets us with a smile and knows our names. Thank you Holly for your attentiveness to your job.

He seemed too eager to do knee replacement surgery right away. He did not recommend alternative treatments. I went to another doctor who recommended that I try alternative treatments before resorting to surgery.

ZERO STARS. This man is rude, arrogant, and does not listen to anything you have to say because he feels his intelligence is being insulted. He told me i had a patella femoral strain from lifting weights and that i had to rest my knee. If he didn't cut me off every time i tried to explain what i was feeling maybe he would have figured out that i have a tilted pelvis which is pulling my knee out of alignment (hence the pain and cracking). This man needs to go back to medical school!
