I have been Dr. Gerencer's patient for eleven years. He has masterfully treated me for nasal polyps and sinusitis. I rate his expertise, bedside manor, and decision-making RE my wellness 5 stars. But I am irate with ASPIRE ever since they bought out Breathe America RE my inability to talk to anyone when I call "Breathe America." They only say, "We will answer your call in 3 minutes," but never do. And they return my calls in three+ days if I'm lucky. I just hope that Aspire treats it's Albuquerque employees better than they do their patients whose patience, like mine, is growing thin. I say to them: "Neglect is not something to aspire to, it's something to get away from."

Dr. Gerencer gave me incorrect and outdated information about my sinus / breathing disease. When I wrote to him with the correct info and citations, he didn't acknowledge his error and just told me I wasn't grateful. Avoid this physician.

I think Dr. Gerencer is a good surgeon. He treated my very advanced sinus condition with 2 surgeries. Still, I continued to get sinus infections. For 2 years he prescribed follow up drugs. His follow-up was not working. I couldn’t seem to get his attention to really discuss my problem. I was relegated to discussions with technicians that were not much help. I blame all this on corporate medicine aka Breathe America. I have learned that most corporations demand that doctors bill out so many hours in a day leaving them little time with patients. Consequently I turned to the internet and found help and advice about treating my sinus infections. I have been free and comfortable for some time now and see a new otolaryngologist who monitors my progress, answers my questions and teaches and works with me.

Dr Gerencer is the only doctor that knew what was wrong with the inside of my nose. Maybe because he did special extra training in sinus disease? He looked in with an instrument and knew immediately and also new how to treat it. Such a relief after not knowing for over a year what it was. And he explained the condition to me very clearly. I highly recommend him.

The worst doctor I have ever experienced. Please avoid! I had surgery for a deviated septum that he made a huge mess of, and denied, saying my subsequent problems were all in my head. I eventually went to another ENT surgeon, who took one look inside my nose and said “I know who did this to you - Roland Gerencer.” He said he knew because the nature of the mess was particular to him, and he had seen it before. I had to have revision surgery by this new surgeon. A horrendous experience.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gerencer since 2015. I've had one sinus surgery and one sinus ballooning procedure. He has a mean nature and is very self centered. recently I left his care and I am no longer affiliated with him.

I found Dr. Gerencer to be very pompous, rude and condescending. After the sinus surgery, I saw him 2 more times. In my 70+ years, I had never left a medical appt. in tears and shaking, deciding never to return to this man after the second appt. Today I am seeing a different ENT and what a difference.

After a sinus surgery for a deviated septum, I still experience congestion on one side, severe headaches. I had to go in for an appointment to have scar tissue cut out. I was a victim of domestic violence, with frequent strikes to the face, so having needles put up my nose triggers the memories. Not much compassion shown for my experience. The wait times for this Dr. are long. It's been 2 years since my sinus surgery, and I am now seeking another doctor for help. I do not recommend this dr.

I have felt very comfortable with my contacts with Dr. Gerencer's, including surgery. He has answered all of my questions thoroughly, has explained his diagnosis well, and did a great job on the surgery. I have provided his cards to friends of mine with sinus problems.
