Birmingham, AL |
Dr. Valderrama chooses his staff over his patients. The cost of my insulin TRIPLED after seeing Dr. Valderrama. Called to speak with his nurse practitioner and she was rude, raised her voice, then slammed the phone on me. Got a call next from the practice manager telling me that Dr. Valderrama said I needed to find a new Endo doc. Neither of them spoke with me to discuss the situation. Dr. Valderrama seem to believe its a privilege to see him. Wrong. The patient is the customer

Dr. Valderrama was very thorough. He listened and asked and answered questions. All of the staff were courteous. The front desk was very busy with people at both windows and on the phone but she handled things with a smile.
in Talladega, AL |
I started seeing Dr. Valderrama a little over a year ago after a year of frustration with a woman doctor at St. Vincents. I was very sick and thanks to the care given by Dr. Valderrama I am now a 67 year old man that feels wonderful and at least ten years younger. I have recommended many of my friends and doctors for referral.

After fighting diabetes for 50 years he is by far the best endocrinology specialist I have ever been a patient. Superior bed side manner and seems to be very knowledgeable on diabetes and the latest treatments.

The doctor was great. He seemed to take my complaints seriously and thorough. Staff however is a totally different story. Front desk is rude. You cannot get them to answer a phone call so you have to leave a message for the "medical assistant" who doesn't call back for two days.

As I try to write this review and not tear up, is super hard. I have tried to be positive about this Dr and his practice. But today my husband and I will no longer be his patients. His staff is beyond rude. I took off work and got to my appointment early to be told basically I was lying about having made an appointment. They couldn't find it. Let's see I'm not rich. But I woke up and decided let me miss work and go to Dr Valderama's office at exactly 3:15 for no reason. No apology at all.

I was 8 minutes late for an appt. and was told they couldn't see me. I was sitting in the waiting room for 15 minutes before they came and told me they couldn't see me because I was late. I was told to reschedule (which next availble appt. was 2weeks away). The staff is very rude. I needed to see the doctor for an important issue requiring a prescription refill, DR. Is not concerned about the health of his patients. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!
