My Mom had a hip replaced by Dr. Zehr several years ago. He did the minimally invasive surgery and hit her sciatic nerve. This caused her to have a drop foot, continuous tingling from her knee to her ankle and had to wear a leg brace for the rest of her life. He has zero bedside manner, no apologies, and only offered that it had never happened before. We found out later that many other patients did in fact have the same outcome. She had an office appt. two days after surgery. It was difficult getting her there and when we arrived we were told no appt was scheduled even though we had the appt card with that date and time. We were turned away and told to come back in another two days. So unprofessional. Please ask him if he’s ever hit a patients sciatic nerve and what problems may occur, if you are considering him. Think twice before going to this Dr., unless you want to end up like my Mom.

Had a serious knee injury23 years ago. was living in NY state at the time and part time in naples . Had two arthroscopic "cleanups" with in 5 years, which ultimately lead to a knee replacement. Tried pain management synvisc injections : they helped with pain, but not mobility . A friend told me about Dr Zehr and his sterling reputation . Saw him and discussed what xray showed. , knee was badly worn . Dr zerh's first question what was my pain level. I said not too bad . He said " when pain becomes too much come see me . What an honest assessment . Two years later I was back. Dr Zehr is low key straight talking , no pressure in any way. He is very caring and has that wonderful sense deserved confidence . I had a replacement in november . My advice to anyone needing a joint replacement this is the place to end your search . Every member of his team is top notch The small surgery center was a joy to wake up in, with the finest level of attention and care for staff.

Good surgeon but zero bedside manner or genuine concern for his patients. Very abrupt, defensive communication style with Mom and family members which resulted in a very critical oversight on his part. Despite knowing my mom fell the morning of her knee surgery, he didn't do any imaging or postpone the procedure. End result, she wound up with a fractured/dislocated hip and required hip replacement/repair surgery (which we obviously did not allow him to do). He took zero accountability and never returned phone calls. Probably time to retire when you become a robotic surgeon and dismiss the human factor.

As a retired physician in need of a hip replacement , I had no hesitation asking dr. Robert Zehr to be my orthopedic surgeon . He is a meticulous, perfectionist who has made the minimally invasive anterior approach hip replacement so easy for patients, without the need for worrisome restrictions and allowing the patient to return to normal activities in a short time . I wish he will teach his superb technique to others , together with his professional ethics. Many thanks to his staff , so attentive, caring and organized . E. D. Selva , M.D.

After extensive research of providers in the area, I was delighted to find Dr. Zehr and his team. He is not only an extremely skilled surgeon and medical professional, but also an empathetic gentleman who takes the time to answer questions, and understand the unique needs of his patients. From initial consultation, to pre-surgical preparations, to post-surgical follow up and guidance with physical therapy, his protocols made the process as comfortable as it could be. His team at the Zehr Center are responsive, friendly, and helpful. Having had one knee replaced last year, and the other one this year, I am sincerely grateful to Dr. Zehr and his team for the very positive outcomes of both surgeries. My quality of life has improved immensely with mobility restored and daily pain eliminated. I highly recommend Dr. Zehr to anyone considering knee replacement surgery.

I initially visited Dr. Zehr to get a second opinion after another doctor immediately recommended total knee replacement. Dr. Zehr took a much more conservative approach and suggested that we try meniscus repair first. That helped for a while but I am an avid tennis player as well as a golfer and I love to garden. It was becoming impossible to do the things I enjoyed. Dr. Zehr did a partial knee replacement one year ago and it has been wonderful. I have complete mobility and flex in the knee and I'm back to doing all of my activities. His nurse, Carla, is terrific and always willing to answer questions.

I want to thank Dr. Zehr and his team for a great job. The entire process, pre-surgery to post was professional, personal and beyond expectations. Prior to surgery, I had difficulty walking, biking, playing golf and sleeping. I am back to doing all the things I enjoy, plus finally getting a good night sleep. Dr. Zehr and his team made the process so easy, I wish I would have had the procedure sooner. Thanks

Dr. Zehr did an anterior hip replacement on my left hip in September 24 2019. As long as I took it easy I could go back to work on Monday September 30th which being a Maintenance Tech is not so easy. I had a right posterior hip replacement in April by a different Dr as at the time Dr Zehr's schedule was packed and it would have been a couple weeks before he could even begin the process and as I was in intense pain there was not much option, The operation was totally successful with no problems at all. But the down time from work a minimum of 3 weeks and different restrictions that go along with the posterior makes it a no brainer. Dr Zehr and anterior is the only way to go unless in is medically impossible to do for some reason. He is 110% plus a nice guy and a heck of a professional and in my opinion the BEST, I have to give Jason a pat on the back as Dr Zehr's assistant, together an excellent team. And of course all the others that are part of the team are thumbs up! Thanks one & all

I had my right hip replaced by a different surgeon in April 2019. My right leg ended up noticeably longer, and I ended up with an eight/nine inch scar. I had my left hip replaced by Dr. Zehr in October of 2019. I asked him if he could make my legs the same length. He could not guarantee it, but told me he would try his best. The surgery with Dr. Zehr was a huge success! I ended up with a small, three inch, incision near the front of my hip that looks like a plastic surgeon did it. Dr. Zehr was able to get both of my legs the same length. I was walking unassisted in a week. I've never had an issue with the hip that Dr. Zehr replaced, where I have had three steroid injections, and continued pain/discomfort with the hip the other surgeon did. I highly recommend Dr. Zehr for anyone thinking of having total hip replacement.

Very negative atmosphere. The only pleasant person was his nurse Karla. Everyone very condescending. Said 1 in 5 aren’t happy with knee replacement. He said if I wasn’t happy his “team” doesn’t have time to deal with issues.

I had a total left hip replacement done by Dr. Zehr in early March 2020. From the initial consultation through the post surgery follow up visits, every contact with Dr. Zehr and his team was outstanding! I am pain free for the first time in years thanks to their remarkable care, and I can highly recommend the Zehr Centre for Orthopaedics.

I had my right hip replaced elsewhere 4 years ago with complications. I’m 6 weeks out from my left hip replacement with Dr. Zehr and am truly a new person. I couldn’t sit, walk or sleep. I am walking 3 miles a day and starting an interval golf program today without any pain. I feel very fortunate that I had my surgery with Dr. Zehr. His nurse and PA, Jason were amazing at coordinating my surgery and care.

I never got a visit. I'm 82 years old and Dr. Zehr won't treat ant patient older than 80. I happen to be in excellent physical state except for a hip problem. That arbitrary restriction is ridiculous in an era of extended longevity

After stressing that I only wanted a consultation and that I had current x-rays I scheduled a consult with Dr. Zehr in my search for a Naples area doc for knee replacement surgery. When I arrived for the appointment, the receptionist took the x-rays and I was called back. I was immediately led to the x-ray room and was told that Dr. Zehr would only see me if I had some more x-rays taken, that the copies I had brought were only two views and that he required four views if I were to be seen. As a retired Doctor of Chiropractic with over 35 years in practice and after prior consults with a Naples orthopod several months ago and five different Ohio orthopods over the past several years, I can assure Dr. Zehr that weight-bearing AP and Lateral views are all that are needed for the questions that I had. Based upon my waste of time at his office, I am embarrassed that any doctor could care so little for any patient's health as to attempt to unnecessarily expose a patient to unneeded radiation
