Care Philosophy

As a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon I am an optomist. I will always choose to help if I feel there is a chance. I am an aggressive surgeon but I would like to think that I always try to accurately assess the risks of surgery and the benefits. I also choose to always treat people with respect.Read more

My friend had a Nuss Procedure by Dr Wiencek (lateral placement titanium bar under the sternal/costal region of chest). He wants me to give Dr W a 5 star rating!! He says he has little physical pain & it's only day 2!! He's walked 3x already, says his chest pressure's gone, can swallow more easily, & now knows what "normal" should feel like! The thoracic epidural worked wonders. He has much gratitude & future hope! He says, "Thanks Dr W, You're a really dope dude, man- Eddy L." (Kathy)

He spends the time to thoroughly explain everything to you and in a manner that you can understand. He has compassion for his patients that you don't always see in a Doctor. I highly recommend him. He has given me a new lease on life and I will be forever grateful

Excellent physician with a very kind heart. You may have to wait a while to see him, but that is what happens when you are the best in your specialty. He is definitely worth the wait!!

The first visit I had recently went very well. I was told that I would have to wait for a time before seeing the Dr. and that is fine, because I feel that this Dr. is worth waiting for. His waiting room is very large, and they even have snacks for the patients. When I met him I was very impressed by the way he seems very interested in your case and listens to you. He did help me, and I am looking forward to the next visit. I have also heard many good things about him from other doctors.

I had a quadruple bypass (with kidney failure) in May 2008. I owe my life to Dr Wiencek. I am now being evaluated for a kidney transplant in Florida, and part of that screening process is a total heart workup (angiogram, etc.). My cardiologist (Dr. Liccini) repeatedly remarked at what a fantastic job Dr. Wiencek did, and my heart is healthier than ever. The cardiac portion of the screening was passed with flying colors. Thank you, Dr. Wiencek (from the bottom of my heart) , Richard Provencal

He is so caring. You know your in good hands when you leave. He explains in detail the procedure being done. The office staff especially Christine are wonderful. Cheryl and Mike Bonvillain

This doctor is my hero. I can't say enough about how highly I think of him. He has done surgery on me 3 times, the first time was a surgery EVERYONE said could not be done, fo breast cancer that had moved up into my chest. The second was lymph node removal under my arm, the third was a very large seroma. I feel like Dr. Weincek was literally a gift from God to me and my family, I believe that he is a large part of the reason I am still here and raising my kids today.

I was recommended by other physicians to see this specialist for my tracheal stenosis. I am in the industry and so I did some checking around. He got nothing but rave reviews from the staff at the hospitals and his peers. He has a great bedside manner. I trust the information he gave me was complete and honest. I was able to ask questions and he took his time answering them. I have been through a major medical issue this past 6 months, he held my hand to help me get through this.
