This content was provided by Dr. Ward III "I am a third generation osteopathic physician. I have done fellowships in neuromuscular disease and Osteopathic principles, philosophy and practice. I have been honored to serve as faculty at Michigan State University, North Texas State University and Andrew's University. I was born on the east side of Detroit in Mt. Clemens and grew up in East Lansing. After medical school in Ft Worth, Texas I moved back to the Detroit area for my internship and residency. My residency was at Wayne State including Detroit Receiving, the county medical hospital. I have been in BERRIEN County since August 1991 practicing neurology. I served as the President of the American Osteopathic College of Neurology and Psychiatry. I was honored with not only a Fellowship in the College but later being named the Distinguished Fellow of the College. I served in the American Osteopathic Association House of Delegates forming Policies nationwide. I additionally served as President of the BERRIEN County Medical Society and was a member of the MICHIGAN State Medical Society House of Delegates forming policy decisions statewide. I have been the Stroke Director at Lakeland Regional Health Systems for over 20 years I testified in Lansing at the State Capitol to establish fixed MRI units in BERRIEN County I also testified on behalf of epilepsy patients for reform of driving laws in the state. After training in sleep medicine in the late 1980s, I helped establish the first sleep lab in Berrien County in 1995. I am board certified in Neurology with Certificates of Added Qualification in Sleep Medicine and Neurophysiology. The latter includes the performance of EEGs, EMGs and other diagnostic studies. Though general neurology is my main practice focus, sleep medicine, neurophysiology and osteopathic medicine are inseparable from the practice. "

Just moving to the area I was a little nervous about starting over with a new neurologist. Dr Ward was very attentive to my concerns and my history. Didnt seemed rushed at all took his time with me and addressed my husband's questions also. He is very laid back not pompous at all.
