His staff was my main issue--though he too, from my experience, can be callous/ill-informed if the issue is not related to vocal strain etc. But the speech pathologist I worked with here was just the worse--laughed at patients (not just me), was extremely judgmental, inarticulate and lazy. She was supposedly a former singer and she couldn't have been less gracious, artistic or interested in helping. Very unprofessional and it says alot about the doctor he keeps her on.

When I had questions about the medication and procedures prescribed, the nurse explained that if I questioned or refused the treatment recommendations of this doctor, I would need to seek care elsewhere. Speaking to him directly was an impossibility. This is not a practice which emphasized good doctor/patient relationships. I looked elsewhere for a doctor.

If you're looking for a doctor with the ego of Narcissus, and the bedside manner of Dr. House with none of the talent, Sataloff's your guy. Otherwise, I suggest you go somewhere - literally anywhere - else. Dr. Sataloff is arrogant and frankly cruel. His staff spends most of their time apologizing on his behalf, and he seems to care far more about the celebrity headshots on his wall than he does about his actual patients.

I think he has seen his hey day. He misdiagnosed my voice problem and recommended procedures that made me worse. I saw someone else and am beginning to feel better, but I've had a rough recovery as a result.

I was very dissatisfied with my experience with this Doctor. He is arrogant and doesn't listen to his patients. He also several times didn't perform the procedure on me that he explained was going to be performed. Spent more time focused on a gastrointestinal issue when I was seeing him to focus on restoring my hearing.

Very experienced neuro-otologist who knows his stuff well; appreciated the performing of a battery of tests that looked for everything. Unfortunately, he did not come up with a diagnosis except that everything could be psychosomatic and anxiety based, which seemed incorrect and shortsighted to me. I felt that many symptoms were overlooked and conclusions were reached rashly. I will add that my condition is still deteriorating despite reduced stressed and anxiety :/
