Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Rothstein "As a Neuro-Ophthalmologist I can make a real difference in the lives of people who are losing their vision. For instance, glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness in the United States and the world, but through medical and surgical intervention it can either be slowed down, or even cured.

Through a very careful history and examination I’m often able to arrive at new diagnosis and more appropriate treatment plans that might otherwise be overlooked.

There is a great deal of technology involved in the specialty of ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology and glaucoma. There is so much science that needs to be understood and needs to be integrated, but at the same time, we’re helping patients with a plethora of psychological issues that need to be integrated. That’s what really makes it an exciting field.

Vision is such an important sense of ours. It’s very psychological as well as physical. By considering my patient’s unique needs, I am able to provide a very personalized prescription."
