Dr. Robert Ross received his doctorate in medicine from New York Medical College located in Valhalla, New York in 1990. From there, he entered an Internal Medicine Internship at Winthrop University Hospital before completing his Ophthalmology Residency at St. Vincent's Medical Center in New York. Dr. Ross completed his Retina/Vitreous Fellowship in New Orleans, Louisiana and has been on staff at East Jefferson General Hospital since July 1994, some 22 years. He was admitted as a Fellow into the American College of Surgeons on October 14, 1999. Dr. Robert Ross began his own private retina practice in 2002. In addition to his practice, Dr. Ross serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Tulane University Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology and supervises a second-year Retinal Ophthalmology rotation at EJGH. Dr. Ross recently performed the second retinal transplant ever in the United States.
