Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. March "We're really considering all aspects of the patient's livelihood when we're trying to come up with a treatment plan. And so it's very important for it to be less invasive and less impactful to their lifestyle - get them back to work and full activity as soon as possible. My role is essential from the surgical standpoint. But I also, being at Rush, am able to leverage the skills of multiple other team members. This field of cardiovascular surgery really involves the use of a lot of technology, imaging, wire techniques. And what attracts me to this field is using all those multimodalities to get the patient back to full activity the quickest way possible. Obviously when you're operating on the heart - that is the most important organ in my opinion, to keep them going - there's very little room for error. And I enjoy the precision and the very high expectations that this specialty provides to us."

Now, 7 years later, I still feel great. When I see him for a check-up, he never rushes through an exam...Read More
