I went with my father to see Dr. Robert Mackow. We waited over 2 hours just to be called back. The front desk let us knew that Dr. Mackow was going to be late. No worries. It happens. He then came after 45 mins in the room and without looking at my father just said you need to be on a kidney transplant. Gave us a 1800 number and said if you have any questions call them. That was it. We said his previous nephrologist never said anything and he said call the number. AVOID DR. MACKOW!!

Dr. Mackow has an extremely unpleasant personality. He refused to treat me because I made a complaint against the DaVita Dialysis Center. He called me a trouble maker and refused to treat me in the Reston Inova Hospital. I filed a complaint against him, the Reston Inova Hospital staff, and the DaVita Center in Franconia because they conspired to force me to go back to the DaVita Dialysis Center after I was abused by the DaVita staff. I don't know why he is listed as a top doctor in this are

Would not refer anyone to him. I would be concerned about their health. We were made to wait 45 minutes, we had been referred by my oncologist yet he had no idea why we were there. Drugs I take for my cancer and my epilepsy he had never heard of. He did not have the most current blood test and refused to get the updated one, he did not have the correct CAT scan report and refuse to get the latest report. He was rude and I'm not sure how he could give a proper prognosis with out the latest tests.
