Littleton, CO |
Laprade is perfect for high-skilled high-variance procedures like ACL revisions and multiple ligament tears. I came to him with a chronically deformed and swollen knee from 20+ years of ACL deficiency. He was the only surgeon who would touch it, and he's given me back the ability to run with my kids and walk without pain. Other than him, my only other option would have been some form of knee replacement age 40.
in Evergreen, Colorado |
ER said it was torn meniscus. Dr. Peace, who was a real jerk, at panorama, said it was a torn meniscus and gave me a cortisone shot. While Dr Laprade, showed me the lateral tare in my meniscus AND the tibia plateau fracture! And explain why surgery would prevent me from having a full knee replacement in two years. I don't need sugar coating or to be dismissed. I just want the truth!!!!
in Colorado |
Dr. Laprade, and my experience at Steadman, was phenomenal. There was a high level of professionalism, and my knee is 100% now. As this was my third knee surgery, I have enough experience in the area to recommend Dr. LaPrade without reservation. Timely, professional, and great results!
in Aspen, CO |
Do NOT see Laprade. I had a knee injury he diagnosed as a scar tissue build up, requiring surgery. 6mo after what was supposed to be an 8-week recovery, I was still in debilitating pain and he refused to help. Wouldn't communicate or even consider taking action, just told me to take ibuprofen. I got a 2nd opinion and the new doc found a large hole in my joint capsule, damaging cartilage, that Laprade had caused and then chosen not to notice or care about. Horrible experience. See someone else.

I have recommended Dr. Laprade several times, and would go to him again, although with a perfectly repaired ACL, I hope I don't have to.
Dr. LaPrade spent all of the time I needed, answered all of my questions, and surgically repaired my knee injury. His staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful. He works closely with the physical therapists to ensure good clinical outcomes. My knee know feels as good as new and I am forever grateful to Dr. LaPrade and his team for repairing my knee when my first surgeon was unable to get a successful repair. I highly recommend Dr. LaPrade to anyone in need of a knee specialist/surgeon.
Unsuccessful scope, poor follow up, poor bedside manner across the board. I spent a year in the dark post-surgery wondering why my knee was still doing so poorly - consistent pain, swelling, unable to return to activities - and LaPrade's suggestion in follow up was to take 1600mg ibuprofen. During appts, Dr. LaPrade said barely two words to me and was halfway out the door as soon as I started talking. Turns out my issues were far more severe (no ACL, patella malalignment) than he had led on.
in Longwood, Florida |
Dr. LaPrade is second to NONE! My family and I were vacationing in Beaver Creek earlier this week and I injured my knee skiing. Even though I was not scheduled to be seen and squeezed in between all Dr. LaPrade's other patients and surgery, I was treated as I was his own; explaining everything in great detail and made sure that he did everything in his power to reverse my pain/symptoms with as little inconvenience to me as possible. I highly recommend you inquire with Dr. LaPrade.
in Kalispell, MT |
I did a considerable amount of research in selecting the best knee surgeon in the US. I had appointments with five different surgeons and selected Dr. Laprade. I selected Dr.Laprade for more reasons than I can list. For one, he was trained and experienced in additional procedures such as a meniscal transplantation, osteotomy, and osteoarticular allografts. Also, his team at The Steadman Clinic, from the physicians assistant to the coordinators are exceptional.
in New York |
Incredibly gifted researcher, educator, and surgeon. He and his team revised my complex knee surgery that was done incorrectly by my first surgeon in NY. I am now pain free and doing all the things I love to do!! I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. LaPrade and his team!!
I chose Dr. Laprade for knee surgery because of his expertise in knee injuries. Dr. Laprade said the technique he used would help my knee issue. It did not, my knee is much worse & much more painful. It has left me unable to do the things I could do before the surgery. I have since seen another knee specialist, he was disgusted that Dr. Laprade did the surgery because it in no way appropriate for my condition. The bottom line: The Steadman Clinic is a surgery mill only interested in revenue
Denver, CO |
Dr. LaPrade performed a meniscus repair on me 2 years ago and caused severe sensation nerve damage. He not only severed a branch of the saphenous nerve, but placed three sutures on top of the nerve that were removed one year later by another surgeon. LaPrade?s poor judgment, technique, and subsequent arrogance in refusing the possibility he made a mistake has caused me two years of constant suffering.
