I was having a knee pain and requested an appointment to get steroid injections. Was scheduled for the next day. Dr. Koval spent time with me discussing future care options and gave me the name of an orthopedic surgeon. His scheduler helped me to arrange an appointment. My experience was positive. Relieved to know that I can get medical help from Dr Koval when I need it

Does not advocate for patients
Dr. Koval demonstrated laziness and unwillingness to take time to review my new patient paperwork (15 pages of ppwrk which took an hour to complete, is there a point if the doctor does not look at it), which detailed my history of pain, additionally I had brought with me records showing sacroiliac arthritis at the very least. Since I was referred by my GI doctor, apparently that was confusing and I am the first patient in the history of time to be referred to a rheumatologist. Dr Koval was rude and arrogant, unwilling to listen or review the referral fully to better understand. The CT I had of my abdomen for other reason clearly showed bone and joint issues, suggesting spondylitis at inferior endplate of L4 and symmetric bilateral sacroiliitis which is seen with ankylosing spondylarthritis. Please do yourself a favor and find a different doctor, someone who is capable of kindness and is able to demonstrate patient advocacy.

Dr. Koval and his Assistant, Megan are phenomenal people! They both always listen and are asking me all of the right questions and any suggestions are helpful. I feel well taken care of by them and trust that dr. Koval always has my back. I do labs every quarter and they discuss them at length with me.

Dr. Robert Koval and his staff were very professional. I really appreciated Dr. Koval's actively listening to me. He took notes on everything I had to say. He asked questions about my concerns to make sure he understood all that I was sharing. He eased my mind on what my issues could be. He told me what his plans were for my treatment and what I needed to do as well. My first visit was very pleasant. I highly recommend Dr. Koval!!

I saw Dr. Koval Oct 2020 and was missed diagnosed saying I had mumps. Months later, I still had the same symptoms so I referred to a new Rheumatologist in April 2021. They requested the lab work from Dr's Koval office and it took them 3 weeks to get my results from his office after the nurse had to call. After 2 visits with my new Rhemalotogist and the results from the lab work that Dr. Koval office sent, I have been diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. This is something that Dr. Koval NEVER mentioned. He did not take the time to really to do an analysis of me, my blood work or my symptoms. Nor did he demonstrate that me or my issues were important. Unfortunately I would not recommend Dr. Koval to anyone.

This time I did not see Dr. Koval. I saw his nurse practitioner Megan and that was fine with me. All I need to know is that someone explains me my lab results. She was very through and that’s good. We discussed my results and the possibility of me stopping the medication. The visit was very satisfactory. Thanks.

I had a great experience with Dr Koval. He spent a long time with me and was not rushed at all. He listened carefully to what I had to say about my medical history and my concerns as a professional musician. He showed a willingness and confidence in a plan to help me return to the stage and studio. His staff was polite and efficient in helping navigate the paperwork. Overall a great first visit. I received cortisone injections in two joints. The success of these injections is very dependant on the precise location of the injection site. I could tell he was an expert in locating just the right injection site. If a Dr gets this wrong #1 it's ineffective, and #2 you can not get another shot for months.
