He is an internationally known thought leader and innovator, having authored more than two hundred scientific articles, written or contributed to more than thirty textbooks, and is on the editorial board and reviewer for numerous scientific journals. Dr. Kershner has been an invited guest speaker throughout the United States and internationally and has received numerous awards for teaching and surgical excellence including, the International Association for Training and Research in Ophthalmic Surgery in Stansstad, Switzerland, the late Director General and Professor Svyatoslav N. Fyodorov of the Intersectoral Research and Technology Complex in Moscow, Russia, the Japanese Society for Cataract Research, the Japan Intraocular Lens Implant Society, the Gold Medal from the Indian Intraocular Implant and Refractive Society, the Maharshtra Ophthalmic Society, the Bombay Ophthalmologist's Association and the IK HO Visiting Professorship of Ophthalmology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is an expert consultant to the industry in refractive cataract surgery, the surgical correction of astigmatism and presbyopia, neuroadaptation and physician led innovation for emerging technologies in ophthalmology."
