This content was provided by Dr. Johnson "Dr. Johnson, M.D. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist on Whidbey Island. Dr. Johnson provides complete medical and surgical eye care for all ages. As a retired U.S. Navy officer, Dr. Johnson first served as a nuclear submarine engineer prior to attending the Uniformed Services University Medical School in Bethesda, Maryland. He did his internship in Internal Medicine at the National Naval Medical Center. In 2000 he was stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island as a flight surgeon and then completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Naval Medical Center San Diego. After retiring from the Navy, Dr. Johnson joined a very busy Ophthalmology practice in Plattsburgh, New York. When an opportunity became available, Dr. Johnson and his family moved back home to Whidbey Island in the summer of 2011. He loves the northwest and specifically Whidbey Island."
