Patients come to see me for a wide variety of gastro-intestinal problems from troubles with swallowing trouble with constipation trouble with bleeding to be checked for colon polyps or colon cancer as well as for liver trouble pancreatic trouble and abdominal pain. I have a special interest in clostridium difficile infection of the intestines and I specialize in colonoscopy and upper endoscopy as well. I think the best approach in helping my patients is to let them talk and ask them open-ended questions. My father was a physician many years ago and he said that if you let a patient talk theyll tell you whats wrong with them. So I ask open-ended questions and guide the conversation from there to form an idea of what may or may not be going on with the patient. The most important thing is taking a good concise history.
