Learn about Dr. Deveney

Care Philosophy

Dr. Deveney is the Co-Director of the Total Joint Replacement Program at Danbury Hospital. He is fellowship trained in adult reconstructive surgery. "Many physicians have limited contact with orthopedists through ongoing education and collaboration. As a result, most of the information they have is based on the knowledge of 20-25 years ago. Medical, surgical and recovery procedures have advanced tremendously. Our level of expertise here far exceeds that of other regional medical centers. Almost all of our staff is fellowship trained at the best schools in the nation. We've got the most advanced technology, training and staff right here."

I had a very positive experience with Dr. Deveney and his staff. He did a partial knee replacement on both of my knees. The results have been great with no lasting pain, however the operations have not improved my golf game...just kidding. I found him to be very personable , and he and his staff to be very professional.

I would never Recommend dr.Deveney to anyone. Nothing but big problems since knee replacement five years ago. So sorry I fell for his sales pitch.
Southbury CT |
Completely agree with the last reviewer. Dr. Deveney and the other joint replacement surgeon at Danbury Orthopedics are very arrogant and cavalier. I, too, was not listened to and had a terrible experience in this office. My needs were just ignored and calls unanswered. It was unbelievable. Went to a different orthopedic practice and was treated very differently.
Ridegefield, CT |
Gross misdiagnosis of my condition which was septic and not orthopedic. Refused to take the simple tests which would have identified that. I spent 7 days in hospital and 6 weeks at care center receiving intravenous antibiotics. A senior member of his medical group called on me the day after I was admitted to hospital and apologized for his colleague's misdiagnosis and his cavalier attitude. He was universally disrespected by the physical therapy and other staff at the health center. .

This past year I had two total hip replacements, six months apart. Dr. Deveney performed both surgeries and provided aftercare along with his very caring staff. They answered numerous questions that I had, reassured me before surgery and made a frightening process seamless. Both procedures were a success due to Dr.Deveney. Following up with physical therapy allowed me to have mobility that was not there previously. What a difference it has made in my quality of life!
