Dr. Boykin repaired a torn labrum in my right shoulder. Throughout every step of the process he and his whole team (Dr. Braun, Katie, and everyone else in the office) were wonderful. Everyone was down to earth, friendly, and incredibly helpful, especially in dealing with the hassles my insurance company was putting me through. All of my questions and concerns were addressed in a thoughtful and professional manner. I hope you never need shoulder surgery because the recovery is certainly not enjoyable, but if you do, I can't recommend Dr. Boykin highly enough.

Dr. Boykin did a great job repairing my shoulder (Torn bicep tendon and labrum). I was given a number of options on how to deal with my shoulder issue, which I greatly appreciated. All of my questions were answered (I had a lot of them) All at EmergeOrtho surgery and their PT group were pleasant and skilled. Highly recommended.

No one wants to have a broken shoulder. I certainly didn't. But Dr. Boykin and his staff at Emerge Ortho Blue Ridge made the process of healing as smooth as possible. My injury was complex, but I was dealt with honestly, kept appraised of my condition and progress at every step of the way, from my first consultation visit, through surgery (I was asleep, but my wife was periodically updated) and all throughout the lengthy recovery period. I have sung their praises to everyone who will listen

He and his staff did a great job. While I’d thought that I’d torn my rotator cuff he determined quickly that I’d broken my shoulder and developed a frozen shoulder. He injected it and put me in physical therapy and now I’m in great shape.

This was as good of an experience as I could have expected, considering the circumstances of my needing Dr. Boykin to begin with. If I needed a physician for shoulder, hip or knee concerns, I would definitely go back again.

Dr. Boykin was great. He was patient and explained everything. One of the best things is that he wasn't just out to do surgery. He definitely wanted to make sure that surgery was absolutely necessary before recommending it. I would not hesitate to go back if necessary. Chris, his PA was wonderful too.

Dr. Boykin is an outstanding surgeon. He was recommended to me by a friend, a highly respected orthopedic surgeon in Dallas, Texas. I am a 70 year old man who had a bad fall and tore my right rotator cuff for the fourth time. Dr. Boykin did not have much to work with both in terms of the rotator cuff tendons and my bicep which was just hanging on. Even with those handicaps, he managed to repair the cuff and reattach my bicep, and I am back to full activity. He and his staff are the best.

Dr. Boykin has made a tremendous difference for our youthful 75 year old mother and our family. Dr. Boykin treated my Mom with extreme care, focus, professionalism, thought, diligence and excellent skill from her first appointment, to the surgery and through each of her post op visits. He is attentive, thorough, sincere, supportive and detail oriented. He is a great listener, observant and was cautious with every aspect of my Mom’s health and well being. I can’t begin to measure our gratitude!

Amazing surgeon. I was in such pain and had done so much damage to my shoulder I was fearful I'd always be limited. Dr. Boykin gave me back my ability to do all the things I love to do, pain free. Not only is he a great surgeon, he has a wonderful ability to make you comfortable and he's so easy to talk with. Top all that off with his great sense of humor. I lucked out when I found Dr. Boykin. I'd recommend him highly to everyone.

Words cannot describe how meaningful my experience was with this Dr. Boykin. Tearing my ACL as an active older adult was devastating and terrifying. From the very first appointment where he shared the difficult news and discussed surgery options, Dr. Boykin was incredibly professional, but more importantly, personable. He spoke to me with understanding, respect, and care. He listened and heard my fears/concerns from deciding the best course for surgery through the year-LONG recovery process.
