Dr Ayre answered all my questions and made me feel confident. Had back pain for a few years till couldn’t walk. Recovering from surgery so much better than previous pain. The surgery was very successful and his assistants answered all my questions. Have recommended him to my daughter.

Perfection
Dr. Ayer did a minimally invasive Laminectomy to relieve my severe sciatica. He was very honest up front, answering that the odds of success were 70%. The entire experience was first class. Dr. Ayer is as great a communicator as he is a neurosurgeon. I could not be more pleased with the results and relief from the sciatica that has plagued me for years. My wife and I have both already recommended Dr. Ayer to our friends. He is a superstar in my opinion.

Dr. Ayer Ruined my life!
Dr. Ayer was supposed to be my surgeon at the end of June 2020, during the height of the Corona Virus panic. I found out from my Ins. EOB that a medical ASSISTANT did most of my surgery-HONG SHI. Since when do you pawn off “unimportant” people to assistants?! No visitors allowed, so I had zero patient advocates. I was in the hospital alone for 8 days in excruciating pain. The pain was in both hips, legs, feet, and from mid-back down. Prior to surgery it had only been on the left side. Now I also have severe neuropathy in both feet. Gee THANKS! Personal note to Dr. Ayer… do you remember being a smart mouth to my husband, saying it would take “T” “I” “M” “E”? Guess what, it’s been plenty of time, and it’s not better. You messed me up. Plus ZERO follow up after surgery. I can no longer work, after working so hard to get my MBA. I hope someone will do the same to you and Hong Shi some day. But, you, Gwinnett and Hong Shi got your $167,000 from us and our ins. R.I.H. Guess what that means?!

Dr Ayer has a great bedside manner. Her took the time to explain my problem when other surgeons really didn’t want to take the time to do so. His techniques are progressive. Rather than stay in a hospital for three days like another surgeon told me would happen, I was home the same day after a lumbar fusion.
