Dr. Rick Sloan, MD

Dr. Rick Sloan grew up in a very small community in Colorado and graduated with 25 students. At an earl age, Dr. Sloan found his grandfather who had passed from an accident involving alcohol. At the age of 5 Dr. Sloan knew who he wanted to become. Dr. Sloan was the first graduate from Sangre de Cristo high school, to ever become a physician. Dr. Sloan spent 10 years in the US Navy, then went back to college and graduated from the University of Colorado Medical school in 2002. He then completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Saint Joseph's residency program in Phoenix. He also provides continuity of care with medically assisted treatment using Vivitrol, naltrexone implantable pellets, and the various buprenorphine/naloxone products. There are counseling services available at his office. Dr. Sloan's clinic is the only one of its kind in Arizona, setting a precedence in the compassionate care that is needed in this field. Dr. Sloan has also successfully and safely detoxed several pregnant women from opiates, conquering the aftermath of NAS. Recently, he served on the Arizona Governor's Substance Abuse Task Force.
