I experienced what seemed to be left tonsil pain for 50 years. I have seen numerous ENT physicians who could not diagnose the problem. I am now 77 years-old and in the last 3 years, the periods of pain have become more intrusive. A friend recommended Dr. Mugge. He thought beyond my description of tonsil pain, after exploring the tonsil. A barium xray showed that my pain could be caused by a lengthening or malformation of the styloid bone behind my tonsil. He also found a cyst on the edge of my left tonsil. He fixed both problems in day surgery. The staff at his office and at New England surgical Center and during the X-ray at Mass General in Danvers were capable and reassuring. What I want to emphasize is my appreciation for a physician who listens with open ears and then calls on many levels of knowledge to go beyond the surface of what the patient is saying. All my googling about tonsils never lead me to a problem with a bone in my throat, but Dr. Mugge did. Thank you for being a cut

I would highly recommend Dr. Mugge to anyone. His support staff was always friendly, caring and effective. At every appointment I was seen on time. His sinus endo surgery was essentially painless and 100% satisfactory, as was his explanation of procedures. He made the difficulties of looking into sinuses through the nose as quick and comfortable as possible during the office visits. I do not like the vacuum tube, but it is necessary. Thank you, Dr. Mugge

Came to Dr. Mugge after several ruptured ear infections looking for answers. His quick diagnosis and successful treatment were a relief. Later, after moving away, I suffered from a sore throat for a year and kept getting told by my PCP that I was fine. So, I went back to Dr. Mugge and was again expertly diagnosed and treated for a cyst in my throat . Now living out of state and don't know how I will ever replace this top notch doctor.

I was advised by a fellow singer before considering surgery Dr Mugge recommended if it would affect my singing voice. This Dr. told me surgery would improve the quality of my voice, also told that the sinuses have nothing to do with the vocal cords. Suffering from post nasal drip that sometimes interfered with my singing I trusted this Dr. After surgery I got my 1st sinus infection, went on antibiotics. I cannot sing or hear as before, am so disappointed.. Dr. Mugge either lied or not educated.
