He is always late for appointments by an hour or more. He knows about this issue, his practice manager knows about this issue, and they haven’t fixed it.

Today, I underwent my second ACL/ meniscus surgery with Dr. Johnston. It was the same surgery I had 5 years ago but on my other knee. Being a repeat patient speaks volumes in of itself. Dr. Johnston has excellent bedside manner but more importantly he is attentive, extremely thorough and an expert in his field. While I was fortunate to grow up in a family of skilled athletes we were all cursed with terrible knees and joints. I have years of experience with the best to the worst orthos; if you are looking for the best look no further than Dr. Johnston. His entire team are professionals, experts in newest techniques & technologies, and surprisingly always accessible, either via phone or in office.

In 2013 I suffered a spiral break to my right ankle and fibula. Dr Richard Johnston performed surgery and sutured the incision with staples. Although his practice advises patients of the use of nurse practitioners, it was an untrained, non-certified “office administrator” who removed the staples. It was the most painful experience of my life...and of the following 6 surgeries over the next 5 years, including a cervical fusion. Although, undiagnosed at the time, I developed RSD in my right ankle immediately after my fall. RSD is ‘over the top’ painful on its own, but imagine pulling (10) staples from an area of your body that already has heightened sensitivity and pain. I screamed out in excruciating pain after the snip of the 1st staple. I asked to be put under anesthesia, for the remaining (9) staples. I was told they cannot offer that for this process and this “office administrator” continued to pull out the remaining staples, despite my screams being heard through the entire office

One of the very best doctors you could find. Dr. Johnston is very precise, and does everything to perfection. He has performed surgery on my shoulder, and both knees so far, and I could not have asked for better results. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Johnson and his staff were very professional and straight-forward in handling my right knee issue. He was very clear in what he was looking at (knee exam, x-rays, etc.) to provide his diagnosis and plan of care. He talked me through what he was seeing from the ultrasound used when providing a cortizone shot which made me feel good about the initial plan of care.

Dr. Johnston preformed several surgeries on me after a workman's comp injury. I could not have found a better doctor. He is one of the finest and kindest Doctors I have ever encountered. From the second I meet him I knew I was in good hands and never worried about any procedure I would be facing.

I am a 66 year old "ex jock" and remain physically active. I have seen Dr Johnston and his PA Stephanie periodically for knee and shoulder issues over the past 15 or more years. I have found both to be precise in their diagnosis, a straight shooter, and Dr. J is an exceptional orthopedic surgeon. He performed a complete rotator cuff repair surgery on me in August 2013. I was back to full strength thanks to Dr J and Stephanie's skills and the OrthoAtlanta physical therapy group.

First time patient. Went in for possible broken leg. Turned out to just be a bad ankle sprain. In and out in under 90 minutes including initial paperwork and x-rays. Dr Johnston was very personable and knowledgeable. Office operates very efficiently and staff was very friendly.

I came in with right shoulder pain which I have been having for awhile. I was giving an xray and Dr Johnston came in and explain my situation and diagnosis in a fashion that I could understand and knew exactly what needed to be done. After my treatment, I feel 100% better. He was very professional and friendly where I did not feel uncomfortable with him. I must say this is rare for me to feel comfortable with a doctor. I would definitely recommend Dr. Johnston to others.

I explained to him that I was in severe pain, he ordered X-rays of my knees and shoulder. He said he didn't see anything wrong with my knees and my shoulder will need to be replaced. He also said he could inject one knee and my shoulder. Neither injection did any good at all. When he injected my knee he could see swelling on the ultrasound. I asked for an off work slip, and he informed me that he did not issue off work slips. I went through 4 weeks of swelling in my knee ..would not recommend
