I have received extensive training in the fields of orthopaedic treatment and surgery, having received my medical training at the nationally respected Bellevue Hospital and New York University Medical Centers. Dr. Richard Grimsley grew up in Jacksonville, and has been in practice here since 1995. A member of Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute's Riverside Division, he performs surgery at St. Vincent's Hospital, which is the only accredited Center of Excellence for Joint Replacement in Northeast Florida. He also has surgical privileges at Baptist Hospital and Clay Country Medical Center.

Dr. Grimsley has extensive Total Joint Replacement experience and is a fellowship-trained specialist in adult joint reconstruction. He has performed thousands of joint replacement procedures, and keeps abreast of the latest surgical techniques, such as minimal incision total hip replacement and MAKOplasty partial knee resurfacing. He also utilizes custom-made knee implants by ConforMIS to provide an individualized implant to best fit a patient's unique anatomy.

Dr. Grimsley entered the medical field because of the gratification he gets from helping patients. Every patient is unique and each patient's treatment plan must be tailored to his or her specific goals for an active life.  Dr. Grimsley's goal is to identify, and then treat with compassion, wisdom and expertise, your specific musculoskeletal needs.

In all cases, Dr. Grimsley's goal is to restore maximum movement and function as quickly as possible with the least risk.  He is committed to providing compassionate, conservative care, and in the majority of cases, will utilize non-surgical treatments such as lifestyle changes, weight loss, oral medications, injections and physical therapy, before he considers or recommends surgery.
