Thank you.
I really was scared. I never had major surgery before. The system that Dr. Berger and his nurses prepared was excellent. All were so informative and helpful. That made me less fretful. I had heard excellent reviews regarding Dr. Berger. I was skeptical because I thought knowing to be that good. He was a good. I had soreness which was expected, but he had physical therapy and nurses come to my home which they both were wonderful too. Dr. burgers nurses were always there when I called. Within a few days I was walking with no walker or cane. Less than three weeks I was driving and off on medication. I was able to physically drive myself to my own physical therapy. Thank you Dr. Berger, and to his wonderful nurses. We will meet again soon to do my other hip and knee. Don’t retire on me !!

I would Never recommend Dr Berger to anyone
Yes, Dr Berger has lots of attractive people making you feel good. I did..Met with him for 10 minutes..he asked which knee to do first...it was my left..the one with the most pain..I trusted him and his reputation.went back and he wanted to replace my other knee but the first one was causing me so much pain I didn't want to do it. He never even touched my knee and spent maybe another 10 minutes I finally went to another orthopedic surgeon and discovered he had put in the wrong size...had it done again..I stayed n the hospital that time for 2 days and started rehab there,,Dr Berger sent me home to a hotel without backup..no stay at hospital or rehab I feel like he is running a machine and doesn't take time or care with patients

Knee replacement
In comparison to my previous knee replacement, through another facility…. This by far exceeded my expectations!! I have never came in contact with SUCH an organized facility. The recovery time was SO much faster than my previous replacement. I can highly recommend Dr Berger and his team!

Dr. Richard Berger performed my outpatient hip replacement less than a week ago. My surgery experience was amazing and the result thus far is nothing short of a miracle. On the day of surgery, I walked out of the surgical center with a new hip and my movement and walking improve each day. I have experienced little to no pain and PT is progressing very well. I would strongly recommend Dr. Berger and his minimally invasive procedure.

In late October Dr. Richard Berger, at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush University Medical Center performed a minimally invasive outpatient anterior hip replacement. The surgery is nothing short of a miracle. On the day of surgery, I met with the anesthesiologist at 6am and by 9:30 I walked out of the surgical center with a new hip. The experience was incredible. If you need a new hip, I would highly recommend Dr. Berger and his minimally invasive procedure.

Couldn’t be any happier with everything about my recent knee replacement with Dr. Berger. I hope this is my last knee replacement but if I someday need to have the other one done, I’ve got zero doubts that I’ll be calling Dr. Berger again. I can’t recommend he or his staff any higher. First class at every contact point.

The results speak for themselves: my hip replacement surgery began at 8:15 a.m. and I was home by 1:30 p.m. and walking without a cane in two days. Today, six weeks after surgery, I rode my bike 12 miles, walked 2.5 miles and did yoga. Dr. Berger's office fully prepared me as to what to expect at every step along the way; the office runs like a well-oiled machine. I did not have much face-time with Dr. Berger (he is busy!), but he was friendly, answered my questions and inspired confidence when I did see him; otherwise, his very professional staff took good care of me. If you have been suffering from arthritis in the hip, Dr. Berger's minimally invasive procedure is the way to go. One note: Dr. Berger recommends getting the Game Ready therapy device for recovery; I did and thought it really helped with a quick and pain-free recovery.

Highly efficient support staff made preparation for my office visit seamless. A virtual teaching session provided extensive info on the procedure itself, as well as pre and post op instructions. Dr. Berger took the time to go over surgical options with me before the office visit, so the decision as to type of knee replacement was easily made with Dr. Berger at our visit. Surgery day proceeded well, the with staff at Rush taking excellent care of me. I still have rehab ahead of me, but already have less pain after the surgery than I did before. I will highly recommend Dr. Berger and his staff to friends and family members. For me, the trip from Philadelphia to Chicago was well worth it, to take advantage of Dr. Bergers expertise in minimally invasive and partial knee replacements.

Berger did both knees(total replacement) 5.5 months apart. I trained for 3 months before the first one and worked at pt between and after surgery. Berger did a perfect job on both. I was in my 60's a bit heavy 6-2 230 and he is amazing! I have referred others all satisfied. please consider hm.

Hip and knee replacement are not miracle surgeries. There are so many things that can go wrong. I had both hips replaced by Dr. Berger and I am wondering why I did. My anatomy is completely changed, leg length difference. I have back pain now 8 months after the second surgery. Two surgeries later, I just traded hip pain for back pain.
