I was only 54 when I saw Dr. Bassett for the first time. I had been in excruciating pain and was so worried because I thought he might say, "well, let's watch things for a while..." After introducing himself he took a look at my X-rays. The first words out of his mouth, "your arthritis is out of control; these hips have to be replaced!" washed over me and I felt an immediate sense of relief. He was professional, kind and attentive to my needs. His background means surgery isn't the only tool in his repertoire. I would recommend him highly to anyone looking for an orthopedic surgeon. After I made plans with him I heard from many others who also shared my experience with him and my high regard for him. I had one hip done and then the other a few months later. He was open to doing that so I could benefit from the fact that my deductible was met for the year. Can't say enough! If this site offered 64 stars as a rating, I'd highlight them all.

Appointment was with respect to knee pain - possibe knee surgery. X-rays were taken and it was determined that I needed a full knee replacement. The doctor said tha a scheduler would be calling me to set a time for surgery. Tha was a month ago, and no has called me and I feel that call is not forthcoming. One star because of terrible beside manners by the doctor, and no one called me re: scheduling surgery. Second apt. with this Doctor - both were huge dissappointments!

Dr. Bassett is probably about the best doctor in PV. I had bilateral hip replacements. I wasn't able to complete the last hip replacement therapy because of another illness, but the right hip eventually even out and now I'm walking well again. I'm able to lift both of my legs on top of the countertop to apply moisturizer to them (like I use to) w/o any problem whatsoever! I highly recommend Dr. Bassett to anyone needing a replacement!

Dr. Bassett’s office took abundant precaution during the COVID-19 outbreak and made me feel more comfortable coming into the office. Once there, Dr. Bassett was thorough and communicative, finding additional issues my previous OS missed. The entire staff was courteous and welcoming under very challenging conditions.

Dr. Bassett is my hero. I was referred to him with terrible hip and thigh pain on one side earlier this year. I was a voracious walker/hiker and at age 77 I suddenly had a hard time walking - when I did, it was with a limp and was painful. Diagnosis was arthritis. In my case, hip replacement for the best result to get back where I was. Shots, could alleviate the pain, but it would come back. Had surgery in July and in two weeks I was walking the neighborhood without any aid. My Primary Care Doc said Dr. Bassett was the best in town and he has certainly proved that to me. Dr. Bassett is personable, listens and answers questions. Now two months out and I'm ready for the trails with no pain. Thank you Dr. Bassett.

I do not recommend him. Discharge while still having pain, told me he didn't know what was wrong. Well MRI I paid for sure showed what was wrong. Told me to use my private insurance to go see specialtist when he knew darn well my insurance wouldn't pay for it and I thought he was the specialist? Save yourself the heartache and just head to Phoenix.
