I have a chronic shoulder problem. Finally went to the correct specialty after 30 years. Had injections and therapy Nov. 2016. Recently tweaked it and needed to go back. Asked for pain meds for the worst days since I hand unload trailers for a living. Was lectured about if I need pills, then maybe I nee d surgery instead. Huh? I made it clear I wasn't looking for a lifelong refill. I was warned surgery doesn't always make it better by their therapists. In all fairness, I was seen by P.A. Rae.

Dr. Bartholomew did a knee replacement on me and has left me with a uncomfortable life. I've had 6 surgeries on this one knee, one partial replacement, one total knee replacement and then several infections that would not go away. I trusted Dr. Bartholomew and it's not right that I'm left with this knee that can't bend, very bad nerve damage, plus I don't have a great balance. My life is terrible since the first surgery and if I knew what I know now, I wouldn't have had NO surgery at all

Took my brother there who is mentally handicapped. He was considerate, explained things to him and there was minimal pain in the procedure of a cortisone injection into his shoulder.

About Me

Care Philosophy

My orthopedic practice focuses entirely on the treatment of the shoulder and knee. I believe limiting your practice in this way allows me to provide the highest level of orthopedic care. Technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace and I spend a great deal of time on continuing medical education vis-a-vis literature, resident education, lectures, and collaboration with my renowned colleagues throughout the country. Always using the latest technological procedures and carefully addressing each patient's needs, I am able to provide my patients with the best outcomes. Each patient is a priority to both me and to my staff. We work together to help each individual reach their maximum potential and return to their active lifestyle as quickly as possible. If surgery is necessary, I utilize a minimally invasive approach which affords the patient a less painful postoperative course. Less...
