Dr. Komotar did a complete resection of my boyfriends tumor when we were otherwise told it could not be done. The first surgeon we had was great, but Dr. Komotar has so much experience and skill, he is absolutely amazing. On top of being a wonderful neurosurgeon, he has a friendly bedside manner and if you email him or call him, he will respond to you almost immediately himself. I have never heard of a world class neuro surgeon doing such things. All I can say is that we are very lucky to have come across his name and get in to see him. I would recommend him to everyone who needs a neuro surgeon.

My experience with Dr. Komotar was very brief. Even though a review was entered here on Healthgrades on my behalf by a rep., quoting me saying something I didn't, I did not spend enough time w/ him to form an adequate, well-rounded opinion of my own. But, this is actually a fortunate story because our brief encounter, about 3 minutes after he reviewed the MRI, was because my condition is benign & does not require the use his skill set. That said, based on the recommendations & high opinions of others whom I DO know well & whose opinions matter to me, I trust that he IS the go-to guy for neurosurgery, should I ever need it. So I AM glad I got the opportunity to enter his practice as a patient when I did, in case my condition worsens. I only have an issue with the compulsory system they use to gather the opinions of their patients following the consultation. Dr. K's rich background & solid reputation CAN speak for themselves. Likewise, trust us with our own genuine feedback.
