Care Philosophy

As a spinal surgeon I believe in treating the patient and his/her symptoms, not the findings on the MRI or X-ray. I will correlate the patient's history to my findings on physical examination as well as the films to create a plan for the patient. Not everybody has the same symptoms or symptoms at all from the same MRI findings so it is important to discover and treat the real issues so they may be addressed appropriately.Read more

Dr. Kuo saved my LIFE on December 10th and I'm so ever grateful for her. She has changed my life forever was in a horrible automobile accident and things was looking good could have been paralyzed but, with her awesome team I'm back to work and living my every day to the fullest.
Morris, IL |
Never examined me after surgery she kept sending me to physical therapy, a year later I'm seeing a doctor at rush to fix her mistake
Chicago, IL |
My wife has been seen by Dr. kuo 4 time now and had a routine surgery. So far my wife as waited nearly 12 hours for her appointments to begin and as spent on average 5 minutes with Dr. Kuo per visit. I do not understand how people get seen that may have a job. Her surgery went fine but was also behind schedual and once it was over, it was 2 days before we saw Dr. kuo again in the hospital. she may be a competent doctor but her servoce to her patience and lack of respect for others time is unsat

She is extremely thorough and stays with you until you understand and don't have any more questions. Great bedside manner. Extremely intelligent.

Dr/ Kuo has performed multiple spinal surgeries on me over the past 8 years. She is the most caring concerned Dr. I've ever had. She truly treats the patient.
in Mazon, IL |
Our regular orthopedist told us that we needed to see a specialist immediately, and he recommended us to Dr. Kuo. We immediately got in the next day. We were quickly brought back to a room (which was very clean with phenomenal staff). She explained everything to our understanding after getting a background. Very good beside manner and made us feel very comfortable. Didn't want to operate immediately. 10/10 would recommend to any family or friends (after Dr. Stephen Tracey)

Totally unprofessional manner. Spoke to me very rudely and unecessarily put me down and made me cry telling me I needed two airplane seats and would die soon and leave my kids without a mother a day that the stress I was going through (my sister had thyroid cancer and I was afraid of losing my job) was no excuse and went on to brag about her personal life for the rest of the visit. Just had a redo on her failed fusion. Also she wanted to do a completely unnecessary full rod in spine suegery.
Terrible experience. Would never recommend anyone go to this doctor. Cocky, overbearing, terrible bedside manner. Surgery outcome was terrible and has only gotten worse. I am having to under go a complete redu on my spine procedure. I also have a very good friend who went to this group, had to go thru a complete redu on their knee. I found the staff and PT group friendly. I am in the medical industry. Never seen any doctor treat a patient like this. Good luck.
