Brilliant and Kind
We have seen Dr. Scardina for a great many years. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of medications and interactions and actively teaches parent and patient about their condition, treatment and how it affects the body. I have never doubted his level of concern for my children or his dedication to finding the perfect cocktail of meds to keep them safe. I literally trust him with my children’s lives.

I have been a patient of Dr. Scardina since I was 15 years old. I am now 33. He is truly a life saver. I live with Bipolar disorder and have been able to have my best life thanks to his care. He is very conservative with the medications he prescribes and gives them time to take effect before changing your prescriptions. He is as caring and soft spoken an individual as I have ever met and just a stand up person.

Dr. Scardina has treated our son for ADHD for about 7 years. He is the most calm and focused individual I have ever encountered. He is very caring and addresses the patient first. After speaking with the patient, he then asks similar questions to the parent. He picked up on some physical things that may have factored into the behavior . He recommended some occupational therapy that helped. He also suggested a sleep study as our child snored. The ENT confirmed Dr. Scardina's suspicion that our child needed his large tonsils removed. I have been very pleased with Dr. Scardina and we followed him from one practice to UTHNE. Office is clean. staff is polite. Rooming nurse is excellent. He returns calls in a timely fashion. It is obvious this is his passion, not just his job.

There are only 2 psychiatrists in the system in Tyler, and DR. Scardina is very good. He has helped a lot with my teen boy. The only thing I wasn't happy about was that at 15, my son had to agree to get his medical records sent to a treatment facility. He was only 15 and I thought the parents could just get it, but he insisted that my son agree to to getting his own records....so we kind of lied to our son about why we were getting his records, but he got the help he needed at the center.
