I would like to think that I have been in this world long enough to know when I’m getting into a bad deal, and Dr. Kurella’s office gave me that vibe from the start. Rarely got anyone to answer the phone, and messages were not returned until I stated in my last voice mail that no one was returning my calls. I finally took the appointment and after sitting in this small, over-crowed waiting room for over an hour, I told the receptionist to cancel my appointment, and I would call my primary care physician and get another referral. Dr. Kurella may or may not be a great doctor, but I’ll never know. Based on my experience and numerous (and similar) other reviews, there are some catastrophic problems with their office staff and business practices. This can’t do anything but get worse.

Impersonal staff. They seem to care more about signing you up for a new test/prescription/procedure than dealing with things holistically. Very pushy. When they talk they expect you to understand and agree. If you question or think about something they take it as if you're not listening to their best advice. Have a really hard time to get calls returned. They're more worried about getting new patients than dealing with the ones they have. I leave the appointment feeling worried and stressed rather than relieved and optimistic. Need some interpersonal/empathy training especially since patients there are dealing with chronic or very uncomfortable/sensitive issues. The only good thing is the portal and ability to access records.

Horrible office staff. You get the feeling that all they care about is getting paid. I know they are not doing it free, but a little compassion would have been nice. I was there for 3 hours. No, not with the doctor but waiting for them to verify insurance. It is scary to be told that cancer has been found. Don't expect empathy from this office.

I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. I've been trying for 3 days to get a prescription refill. This is the third time this has happened. I haven't got a call back or anything from his nurse and I've left two messages. I've called 4 times this morning and only get transferred to different voice mails. Not a "I'm so very sorry let me check into this and find out what's going on." NOTHING!!! I will no longer be using this clinic as my Gastro Dr. and will be looking for a new one. Dr. Kurrelo is nice and thorough but his office staff could definitely use some training in regards to caring for his patients needs.

Excellent physician and staff. Thoroughly explains tests being performed and the result of each test. Takes time to listen to the patient and answers all questions. He gets to the root cause of your symptoms. Once diagnosis is determined, he very well explains what is going on and how to keep symptoms under control.

I was referred to Dr Kurella from my PCP for GI related issues. His PA and nurse were wonderful! They had me do multiple tests and they knew something was wrong so they referred me to have an ultrasound of my gallbladder done. That ultrasound basically saved my life! After it was done, the lady said my dr office would call within 2 business days and I got a call within an hour! Turns out it was a rare form of cancer, liposarcoma! I have had surgery and am alive! :)

Extremely glad I chose Dr. Kurella. He is very knowledgeable of my problems, very caring of my wellbeing, and very attentive to me in general. He even contacted me on Christmas eve to check on me.......really......Christmas eve, who does that!.....I have recommended him and will continue to do so. It is also apparent that his staff enjoys working with him. This is another positive for his practice, especially when people come into his environment with serious problems.

I first saw Dr. Kurella in Nov of 2017. I've had 5 appointments since. At my first appointment, he told me my care was important to him and that as his patient, I was his priority. Each time I saw Dr. Kurella, he was attentive. He looked at me, not a computer screen, when he spoke to me. He explained my diagnosis and treatment thoroughly. He answered all my questions. I felt that during my appointments, I had his full attention. I trust and respect him as a person and as my doctor.
