Dr.Avasthi and I work as collaborative team to help my grandson's mental health which is compounded by an attachment disorder and autism spectrum disorder. We have several years in our Team. We respect one another, listen with an openness to specific interventions and there is education that is always delivered during our appointments. I have a level of trust that overlaps the experience in medication assessments that deliver effective results. He does treat his client as an individual needing individualized medicine. Dr.Avasthi does support the client and family caregiver in the form of holistic medicine views.

Dr. Avasthi is an excellent psychiatrist. I’ve been to several, and he is relaxed, friendly and knowledgeable. Psychatrists can be intimidating, however, Dr. Avasthi has the gift of helping you to feel open and relaxed about your illness. In addition, he is adept at pinpointing medications that can help you (you don’t have the trial and error period of trying five medications just to see what is the most effective). I recommend him highly to anyone seekng help with anxiety and depression.

Inactivated all my meds after I paid out of pocket for a visit. Wouldn't give me an explanation and simply said he didn't remember calling the pharmacy and inactivating them but he wouldn't call them back and refill them even though I already paid. I went through withdrawals from my psych meds including seizures until I could get into see another doctor. His assistant is also his girlfriend and IF I could ever get a response from him it was a text from her. He should be sued for malpractice.

Worse doctor ever. He spends no time with children when they are in the hospital. He does not call parents to get information or answers questions. He just gives your child a bunch of medications that cause horrible side effects and don't work.

Disappointed in this "doctor". He made assumptions about my son and was defensive when I asked for more information. Unprofessional and entitled.
