I was very happy being a patient of Dr. Shammas. She is so friendly and caring. She always takes the time to explain things and always seems on top of my case. She seems to be very knowledgeable and is always on top of what tests I need.

Dr. Shammas put me on Humira. I began having chest problems. My primary diagnosed me with pneumonia. I had a followup with Dr. Shammas, but the day of the appointment the office called and said she was too busy to see me. I made two subsequent appointments. Both times when I got there I was told Dr. Shammas was too busy to see me that day. I ended up in the hospital twice with 105 degree temperature, pneumonia and sepsis infection. I have had to seek another rheumatologist. Stay away from UCLA.

Dr. Shammas is a caring and highly skilled physician. She is a great listener which can not be understated when dealing with compound and complex autoimmune issues. Her treatment has made an incredible difference in quality of life for me. You will be very glad you chose her. She is now at UCLA Burbank.

She is simply one of the most extraordinary doctors I have ever worked with. And 'WORK WITH' is the operative term. She listens carefully, suggests treatments that work for health and lifestyle, cares sincerely about her patients and is totally professional.

Dr. Shammas is warm, caring, and very concerned that you get the care that you need. She confirmed my "intuition" within 5 min. of my visit after several doctors and even family members began doubting me. We drove all the way from Florida just to get somebody who knows about complex autoimmune disease to listen to me and it was well worth it. Her follow up care in the transition home has been amazing as well. I would highly recommend Dr. Shammas. She collaborates WITH me, not AT me. :)

A truly appalling experience of patient neglect. The only thing this doctor did successfully was to order tests. Find a professional who follows up when your blood work gets in or your MRI is completed to go over the underlying issues of your illness. Dr. Shammas charged $660 for a 15 minute visit and never called to go over my diagnosis or test results. One of which was an important indicator that I need treatment immediately. If your health is a concern - go to someone else.

Dr. Shamas took extra time and extraordinary efforts to help diagnose my Lupus related issues that other doctors found challenging. She is very warm and cares about her patients. I will travel from the Bay Area to Southern Ca to be treated by her.
