Dr. Hicks has also served as a thought leader and spokesperson for the role of information technology in enhancing the quality and efficiency of health care, and spearheaded RMI's efforts as the first radiology practice to achieve a successful Meaningful Use implementation.
Dr. Hicks, co-owner and CEO of RMI, is a distinguished expert on women's imaging who has co-authored several medical journal articles on topics related to imaging for breast cancer. He also has special interests and expertise in parathyroid and thyroid imaging and in interventional breast biopsy procedure and product development. A graduate of Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine, Dr. Hicks completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Michigan State University Affiliated Hospitals, and was board certified by the American Board of Radiology in 1989. After joining RMI, Dr. Hicks also earned an MBA to enable him to direct the five-office, 120-employee organization to better serve his patients and the community. His leadership role in the medical community also includes service as Chairman of the Board of Directors for PPI Communications, a company specializing in communication solutions for physicians, and as a board of directors or development/advisory board member for: Hologic, a manufacturer of diagnostic and medical imaging equipment, focused on women's health peerVue, a provider of healthcare information technology solutions, including a software product that helps radiologists evaluate one another's work to ensure consistency and quality control Merge Healthcare, a leading provider of enterprise imaging and interoperability solutions in radiology, cardiology, and orthopaedics HealthPlus of Michigan, a licensed not-for-profit health maintenance organization providing health care coverage to more than 200,000 members in southeast Michigan Dr. Hicks also sits on the board of directors for The State Bank, a local financial institution based in Fenton, Michigan, and for Fentura, Inc., parent company of The State Bank.The lifelong Michigan native completed his undergraduate degree at Kalamazoo College.
