Total Hip Replacement
Dr. Ruark and his support team/staff are the epitome of excellence! During my initial appointment, Dr. Ruark was professional, attentive, knowledgeable, patient-centered, solution-oriented, compassionate, and a great listener who answered all of my questions and addressed all my concerns. He treated me like a human being and not a number. His demeanor was consistently the same through the whole process. His team and support staff were just as stellar! I love Dr. Ruark! His expertise can be seen in my ability to walk again and to walk without pain. I recommend Dr. Ruark with five golden stars.

Outstanding Dr!
I had my right hip replaced by Dr. Ruark in October of 2021. The surgery went well and the recovery process was short, with me walking within a few days! I was quite surprised and very happy as I am not one who can just lie around for long periods of time. I am very grateful to Dr. Ruark for making me walk again without pain!

Professional, Courteous and Knowledgeable!
Dr Ruark was very thorough in my exam and diagnosed me in a very timely manner through the appropriate testing. He listened to my concerns and was very caring about the pain I was experiencing. His office always gets me in and out without making me wait because he sees my time as just as important as his! Highly recommend him.

Excellent doctor!
I had a total knee replacement in 2015 and had a hip replacement May 2022. The surgery and aftercare both times were superior. I left the hospital knowing that I completely understood my recovery process. Not only that, I was sent home with complete documentation for aftercare. Some facilities have hip replacement patients go home the same day - I stayed one night and feel that aided in my recovery process. I don't see how anyone can retain post-op precautions leaving the hospital the same day. Overall, Dr. Ruark is an excellent surgeon and the team and staff at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital couldn't be better.

Dr. Ruark performed a total hip replacement on me 1-17-22. I was walking very well within 3 to 4 days. My recovery time was short and he did a tremendous job and has a wonderful bedside manner. I would highly recommend Dr. Ruark.

Dr. Ruark is very knowledgeable about my bilateral knee pain. He is a very compassionate and an expert in his specialty. He takes time to listen to me and doesn’t shame me for not agreeing to have knee surgery right now. But he offers bilateral knee injections every 3 months as an alternative to surgery while the injections work.

Dr Ruark did my knee replacement 2 years ago and I can’t say enough in praise. It was my second knee replacement. My first left me crying the night it was done and was not very good thereafter. Dr Ruark left me laughing, my recovery was swift my knee is perfect 2 years after. I went back with a hip problem and was sorry when he told me it wasn’t a problem that would benefit from hip replacement! I also have high praise for their physical therapy people. I will happily continue finding a solution to my hip problem through houghton clinic.

Dr Muncie and Dr Ruark listened to my complaints and showed interest and compassion. I was scheduled for further tests and will return for those and additional interviews with doctors to discuss surgical options. Dr. Savory retired. I simply asked “who replaced him”? Everyone told me Dr. Ruark. That was all the info I needed. You’d better be Superior in all categories to replace a Legend. Simply said, “He is!” His advise has been spot on at each of our two meetings. My knees are fine after 18 years. Dr. Ruark will keep them that way

Dr. Ruark replaced my right hip on October 14. I am extremely satisfied with the surgery. I am just over 5 weeks out of surgery and am having little to no pain walking without a cane. Dr. Ruark is a skilled surgeon in addition to being a very nice person. He explained the procedure clearly and answered all of our questions prior to the surgery. I highly recommend him to anyone who is considering total hip replacement surgery.

Post op check by Dr Brown. I asked if I could speak to Dr Ruark and he was sent in the room. I told him “I am your best advertiser You did a great job and there is no pain now. I wanted to tell you myself” I am still in PT 2 more weeks for some minor stiffness early AM and late PM. I was in progressing pain since 1979. It is amazing that it is finally minimal and usually none at all??
