Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Riggs "A psychiatrist is a MEDICAL DOCTOR who helps people with problems in feeling, thinking, behavior, motivation, or focus. ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS is crucial to successful treatment, so Dr. Riggs takes a careful history, including a review of physical conditions or medications that could be causing the problem. Then he reviews his findings with you, gives you options for treatment and his recommendation. Often, medication, talk therapy, and practicing some changes is the path to IMPROVEMENT THAT LASTS."

Wow. He sounds terrible! So it was difficult to schedule an appointment, and when you got there, the office wasn't clean or comfortable. The staff were rude and unfriendly. The doctor always kept you waiting, and when you finally saw him, he didn't listen to you or answer your questions. He didn't explain medical stuff so you could understand it, and you didn't trust his decisions or recommendations. And you continued to see him for MONTHS, he still couldn't figure it out. --GET A NEW DOCTOR!!!
