It took 20 years for a doctor to finally confirm a diagnosis of sciatica. It took another 20 years to be sent through rehab. After that, an MRI was finally ordered and it was determined that I needed surgery. I chose Dr. Porter based on recommendations from doctors I trusted. When I woke up after surgery the pain and numbness in my legs was completely gone. I had some pain at the incision site, but did not need pain meds when I went home. Within a week I was walking miles again with no leg pain! I'm going through rehab now and expect to be back hiking, running and doing aerobics soon. Everyone on staff is friendly and helpful and truly interested in my success.

Dr. Porter removed a tumor in my spine on 4/2/2019. The operation was a success. From the first meeting with him I had total confidence in his knowledge and abilities. Dr. Porter prayed with me prior to surgery which gave me peace of mind and I knew that Jesus was in the operating room guiding us through out the procedure Thank you very much Dr. Porter Nancy Walker

The procedure that was performed on me was a L4-5 left sided hemilaminotomy with foraminotomy and medical facetectomy . L 4-5 microdiskectomy. I followed his directions on recovery and therapy and actually felt as if I had no surgery at all. I have had a knee and shoulder replacement and this was the easiest recovery of all. I am sure much of that is do to how good Dr. Porter is as a neurosurgeon. I would recommend Dr. Poter to anyone who is need of neurosurgery. HE IS JUST THE BEST.

I was a patient of Dr.Porter , I had 2 crainiotoyms both in April of 2014 & 2 gammaknife procedures 1 in 6/10 &12/15 He made it sound like he was so sure that he waz gonna cure my pain in my Head/Face nerve damage . It all backfired & the last I saw him , he said that maybe I should look into applying for Social Security ! What kind of Dr tells you that ???????? I'm only 43 years old now.

I had many issues with my back including lumbar spinal stenosis, herniated lumbosacral discs, lumbosacral spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, and lumbar disc herniation. I received excellent care from everyone involved with Dr. Porter's office from Andrew the scheduler, to Julie the NP and last but not least Dr. Porter. What an amazing doctor!! He has such skill and knowledge! He made me feel so comfortable and even prayed with me before surgery. I am 2 months out now and I feel amazing!

I have seen Dr. Porter many times over the last 12 years--first with Trigeminal Neuralgia and then with Degenerative Cervical Disc issues--both requiring surgery. Throughout, he has been efficient, responsive to my inquiries, thorough, caring, and (most of all) is an excellent talented surgeon. I trust him. Over the years, his staff has always been well trained, efficient, and courteous.

Dr Porter is outstanding! Great service, great care. However, this "Andrew" that answers the phone calls is less than outstanding. Andrew is condescending, arrogant, and border line rude.

Dr. Porter is an excellent surgeon, very compassionate and patient. His nurse Julie is also an excellent nurse. She is his "right hand man"! They went out of their way to help us and Dr. Porter was willing to come in on one of his off days. The reason for the 4 stars is because the contact person who answers all of Dr. Porter's calls, Andrew, can be a bit difficult and condescending at times. My other concern is that Dr. Porter was often very tired, overworked due to his demanding schedule.

Doctor Randall Porter has done five spine surgery's and he is the very bested surgeon, every time he did one of my surgery's he prayed and then he wiped away the tears on my face. If you ever need a neurosurgeon don't pass him by that would be a very bad mistake. He is the very best so if you want the very best doctor check him out because if he work's on you I promise you will be the next one here saying how great he is.

I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Porter. Multiple other doctors and diagnosis, multiple failed attempts at understanding the problem, 3 years total of debilitating chronic pain. Dr. Porter recognized the seriousness of my stenosis and herniation, was able to communicate in a way I could understand, performed a double fusion, L5, S1. It is a year and a half since my surgery, I am grateful every single day for his expertise, his caring, his prayers, and honestly, giving me my life back.

Back Office staff not compassionate - calls patient a week before surgery to advise pt., if oustanding balance, not paid, no surgery; quoted a ridiculous amount due as a deductible; per insurance, not accurate. A tactic to intimidates patient into paying and stressing before surgery. Patient is also told that patient was "lucky" Dr. Porter did first surgery, even though there was outstanding amount. Unbelievable!

Dr. Porter recently completed a surgery on my C2 Ganglion nerves to sever them after YEARS of severe headaches, especially on my left side. After exhausting pain management and doing a trial on the St. Jude neurostimulator, it was decided that direct surgery was most likely the best course of action. During surgery, Dr. Porter found the left Ganglion involved with the C1 & C2 vertebrae, clearly the root cause for years of suffering. I am now looking forward to a pain and Rx free life!

Spent considerable time discussing options. His N.P. was always available to answer questions and facilitate communication. Superb surgeon, yet down to earth and easy to talk with. Explains things well.

Waited over four hours in exam room to se him. He said he was very busy (NOT MY PROBLEM). He never looked at any of my MRIs, just read the results, never read any other doctors results, never wanted to physically look at any of my problems, never looked at the questions I had to answer before my appointment! The only thing he told me HE WAS A SURGEON Which he told me twice. Made another appt. which was worst than the first ! DONT WASTE YOU TIME AND MONEY
