Excellent communicator: he is kind (cared about my pain and the personal impact of my injury), explained everything well (the injury, the surgery to fix it, and he included a realistic timeline for recovery), asked if I had questions (listened well and explained in layperson terms but without talking down to me). Great surgeon--my recovery was exactly as described and is now complete.

I had the unfortunate experience of being referred to Dr. Lais by the Baylor-Grapevine ER in Grapevine, TX. This was when Dr. Lais was practicing in the Dallas area. Because of his incompetence, my elbow injury was not treated correctly and this resulted in numerous issues. I now have a permanent elbow injury which, if I had first seen a competent doctor, I would not have. Do not go to this doctor. I did and I am paying for it.

My mother was in a car accident with a drunk driver and was injured with over 10 days in ICU and several blood transfusion. Her left leg was shattered and at the beginning they talked about amputating her leg. She saw Dr. Lais he was professional, realistic and extremly good at what he did. I was with my mother every appointment and we were always impressed by him. 3 years later my mother is walking without a walker, without a cane, drives herself and works out at a gym! He is truly a miracle.

Breaking my right wrist, in a freak accident was the WORST thing ever being that I am right handed. I was extremely nervous and scared because this was my very first surgery in life. I didn't know what to expect or how everything would turn out but Dr. Lais seemed very confident that he could fix me. I was terrified of having surgery, but he and his wonderful staff convinced me it was the best option. He did such a marvelous job, I forget surgery was even Done! He is brilliant!!
