Poor organization skills, bedside manner, value for the money, and health outcome. I was diagnosed by two doctors as having bursitis, which required a cortisone shot. I sought an orthopedist and I saw Dr. Schwarzkopf's nurse immediately, after which I waited over 3 hours to see the doctor, who had forgotten about me and seemed quite disorganized. Although I was able to walk, he mandated an x-ray, which I felt would cause more treatment delays and unnecessary expenses to my insurer. I requested skipping the procedure. Instead of explaining this was needed because injections near a broken bone could cause damage, he became confrontational, aggressive and repetitive even though I was simply looking for a rational explanation. His behavior was so inappropriate that a nurse came in to witness the eventual cortisone shot (no broken bones) -- 6 hours later. Dr. Schwarzkopf billed my insurance company $1500 for the x-ray and another $6200_-- an egregious amount for a simple shot.

Scheduled for posterior hip replacement surgery next week but felt compelled to report how impressed I am with Dr. Schwarzkopf‘s assessment of my situation and the ability of he and his staff to answer my many questions and put my fears at ease – very important for a positive outcome. Looking forward to taking the first step to reclaiming my active lifestyle. I will update my review post surgery.

Very knowledgeable and personable. Willing to perform total hip replacement surgery 3 months after fracturing my right hip and having hip pinning surgery that failed.
