Following graduation, he completed his 5-year internship and residency in surgery at Tulane University Health Science Center in 1996. Dr. Corsetti then completed a 2-year fellowship in surgical oncology at Brown University in 1998. His specialty is General and Oncologic Surgery. He has been in private and academic practice since 1998 and is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Corsetti has been on staff at Ochsner since 2006 where he has been the Medical Director of the Lieselotte Tansey Breast Center. Dr. Corsetti is an Associate Professor of Surgery within the University of Queensland School of Medicine/Ochsner Clinical School serving as the Surgery Clerkship Director since the inception in 2009. Dr. Corsetti has authored over 30 journal articles. His role in surgical education is based on patient care where he promotes patient involvement in decisions regarding their treatments. Dr. Corsetti has received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. He has been recognized as Teacher of the Year on several occasions at Tulane and Ochsner. "
